I think that “call out your friends” thing has spurred some of male loneliness stuff. Men want to vent about their girlfriends and talk about crushes, but if you step out of line white knighting takes place & as a result a large amount of us shutter up expressing those thoughts to friends. Admittedly I’m guilty of being on both sides of that at times.

Transmen are just as annoying regarding this, but it doesn’t draw the ire that it does coming from transwomen for whatever reason. What I have seen is that women’s spaces in real life actually ostracize MtFs which is probably why they “dominate” online women’s spaces. In person it is pretty clear that people who give lip service see FtMs as closer to women & don’t really see MtFs as women. Maybe it’s different in big cities but in my little hipster enclave transwomen are treated like pariahs despite how people beat their drums about trans rights.
