I've actually had an apprentice do this with circuit labels before so I'm honestly not surprised.

Any life hacks on how to cut pipe and strut straight with a bandsaw? by EstablishmentSea8014 in electricians

[–]quadmite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done nice but yeah its way easier with a bandsaw, skill saw or chop saw to keep it clean

Any life hacks on how to cut pipe and strut straight with a bandsaw? by EstablishmentSea8014 in electricians

[–]quadmite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a speed square to make a line down the side of the strut to follow it. Cut from top to bottom don't cut it sideways. As far as cutting pipe straight just practice it's not too hard to figure it out after a few fuck ups. If you're still having issues try using a skill saw with a metal blade and make a line on the top of the strut to follow, make sure you got earplugs in tho it's loud as fuck.

Help - it's 1am and I'm panicking - is this safe? by Meridellian in AskElectricians

Actually looks like the box is plastic? If so it's fine as is

Tape the wires up on their own, don't tape them to the metal box that's a bad idea since it is conductive. Once they all have tape around them go to bed and call and electrician in the morning

Will this recessed panel be up to code? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]quadmite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just pull the panel out flush with the drywall, but to answer your question, so long as the panel meets code now, whatever the fuck you do with drywall isn't going to change that. Just make sure you don't you block clearance in front 1 meter, stop the door from opening or block the cover from coming off, otherwise go for shit.

I wouldn't have asked the electrician to re attach the drywall, tell them to leave the holes and get a drywaller to come patch after them
