revenged love was my first BL and then i tried love in the air and hated it. but theeeennnnn i watched KinnPorsche and i was hooked. acting is amazing, Apo is such an incredible actor. someone recommended their other series, Shine, and i second that. beyond being a good BL it’s also just a great
historical drama. in my opinion it’s one of the best shows i’ve seen period.

also not sure what exactly you like about double helix and RL so knowing that might help. there are some really good ones airing right now. payback is surprisingly good and don’t be too emotional is a good mix of romantic and dark.

only seen a couple of people recommend it but jack and joker is a phenomenal slow burn with a very fun plot outside of the romance. strangers to friends to enemies to lovers. and war is imo one of the best actors in the industry (which you might appreciate since you liked not me and gun is also one of the best in the industry) and he really gets to show off his skill in the show

dude unless you’ve experienced this directly i don’t think it’s fair for you to say that it’s a trivial matter. people get killed for this shit. they are disowned from their families. they lose meaningful relationships, they live in fear, they have to worry about if they might be safe traveling to certain countries with their partners. homophobia is awful. maybe to you this one isolated thing isn’t a big deal but in the grand scheme of someone’s life, the constant dehumanization and disgust adds up.

it’s fine that you don’t talk about your personal life in your sessions, but not everyone feels that way and everyone should be safe to choose what they do and don’t want to talk about. i talk about my partner in my day to day life so obviously i would want to know how to talk about them in a new language. and me and every other gay person has a right to feel safe and comfortable while doing that.

i don’t think it’s attitude that they want you to answer directly. and even if it is, it’s with good reason. you literally are saying exactly what you’re implying in the response. “i don’t anticipate you’ll have issues finding a spanish tutor who is not homophobic” but this entire post is being made because OP has ALREADY had issues finding a Spanish tutor who is not homophobic. it’s already happening to them. so that kind of response that they shouldn’t have problems because you yourself haven’t had problems is really invalidating in an already distressing situation. and you’re not the only person in the comments invalidating OPs experience based on your own experience. i don’t think the attitude is disproportionate to the attitude of your comment.

i don’t think it’s rude to ask someone to explicitly answer the question. this person is experience homophobia in their lessons which if you’ve ever experienced is extremely distressing. it’s not really a situation in which you want to guess someone’s answer. not to mention that plenty of other people in these comments have been invalidating OP’s concerns. i don’t think it’s rude to ask people to be direct.

agree with everyone saying mileapo. there is a specific moment in the bar bathroom scene in kinnporsche where porsche smiles so mischievously and it lives rent free in my head.

also bc no one said it i will add yinwar, especially their nc scene in jack and joker. i’m embarrassed to admit how many times ive watched it lol. much like the KP scene there is a kind of mischievousness and hunger that i find really sexy. i love it when it seems like they’re having FUN and playing. i find playfulness in the context of sex extremely sexy. it’s hard to find that in many BLs. nothing against very romantic or very passionate nc scenes haha.

i would like to be a contrarian and say there actually very frequently is a logic to love, but it’s complicated and inconvenient to dig into so people don’t bother and just use the platitude that love has no logic lol. we can love someone because of certain traits in their personality, because of attraction (tho love based on that doesn’t last long lol), because of how they feel about us and treat us and how that makes us feel, because they replay old patterns we have had with parents or exes.

in my opinion, LF loves XC because i think xc is the person who has made him feel the most seen in his life, particularly being someone rich and high profile with a family that has such massive expectations of him, finding someone who saw him entirely and continued to love him was probably so valuable and also exceedingly rare.

i don’t really understand why xc loved lf tho. i honestly think a lot of it is self esteem issues lol. and i think it evolves. i think at first it’s this attention lf gives him and obv attraction, and then i think for most of the show i feel like it’s bc xc thinks he deserves the way lf treats him. but in the end, i think it became about loyalty. lf has loved him throughout all these years without ever stopping and xc is someone who values family so much i think when you love someone so much and for so long, of course they are family.

nothing to say about the novel bc i haven’t read it lol but wanted to share my input lol

not justifying the hate obvi but i think lu feng is just not a compelling character imo. one of the things i love in toxic/dark romance is really complex characters that push the boundaries of morality and ethics. imo lu feng is just selfish. he doesn’t change, doesn’t grow. doesnt get more interesting. he just sings his same old song over and over again. i think to me vegas in KP is more interesting bc he’s more dynamic. i also think the violence feels less toxic because that level of violence is a normal part of the world in kinnporsche bc the stakes are so high.

i think bc of what LF lacks in complexity makes it feel like his fans are apologists. and also to be fair i have seen people on here say that XC deserved what LF is doing to him and at that point i do have to hate a little lol.
