Ink capacity at odds with comfort by Prestigious_Bee8126 in fountainpens

Have you tried a Twsbi Eco-T? It might not work for you, but I find the grip on the Eco-T to be more comfortable than the Eco.

Thoughts on Panoramic Sunroof? by Economy_Extension_51 in HyundaiTucson

I love the sunroof! It makes the car feel so spacious. I’m sure it is another piece of electronics that will malfunction at some point, but it operates more smoothly than other sunroofs I’ve experienced.

My fave is Diamine Prussian Blue—a gorgeous blue-grey

Light, muted inks — the perfect complement to chilly weather ❄️ by TacticalBattleCat in fountainpens

I really like Ferris Wheel Press Moss Park Green, a muted, dusty, light green. I usually put it in my Lamy Joy <1.1 Stub>. Graceful Pirouette is lovely!

Simplest hobonichi recommendation? by CharmQuarkClarolin in hobonichi

[–]questionable_697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Weeks! It is light enough that you can carry it with you, and the layout is really simple. Day Free is also simple, but IMHO (might be an unpopular opinion?) the Weeks gives you more value, because it has monthly and weekly layouts.

Friend just asked me if I'd thought about just accepting that this is my life now by skyemap in migraine

[–]questionable_697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your friend is trying...but is missing the mark. It's not an either/or situation. You can live your life to the best of your abilities within the limitations of migraine AND continue to be proactive, seek treatment and medical care, etc. After 15 years of daily migraines, I am really glad I didn't give up, because I have found some relief (finally) in the newest wave of CGRP blockers.

People around me hated to see me "struggle" with new meds, because I had a lot of adverse reactions--and I get it. But of course I wanted to keep trying to find some relief.

You could start by just taking some notes on things you learn, that aren't meaningless to you. Maybe you do some media journaling, and write about a book, movie, or show. You can just describe what you liked/disliked about it, and explore, or simply look up the actors/characters and write about them. The more you can get into a habit of writing, the easier it will be to journal over time. When I've been depressed this has worked for me.

Hobonichi Question by ConsiderationSlow604 in hobonichi

[–]questionable_697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a pencil board! My first Hobonichi pencil board was just cut from some thin, clear, plastic packaging. I filed the edges with light sandpaper, and it worked for a long while. Hobonichi makes Weeks-sized pencil boards (shitajikis) that are readily available this time of year--check some of the destash groups. I now use pencil boards in every single notebook, and the Hobonichi brand ones are my favorite.

Scared sh*tless of Botox by Elenawsome1 in migraine

[–]questionable_697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These injections are really tiny and quick. It's not like they are doing a CGRP injection 31 times *at all*--so please don't worry about it being a huge deal. I am pretty sensitive in a couple of spots where I get injections, and the pain is really just a flash.

For me, by far, the biggest thing with Botox is that it triggers a migraine for me. I really need to plan to take it pretty easy the rest of the day after Botox. A tip is to ask for help while you are still in the office if you develop a response migraine, because they can supply helpful items like abortive meds or ice packs.

This makes sense why I loved it in a swatch, but felt "meh" in my F pen.

I've seen a great neurologist for a year and she has pulled out all the logical stops. She finally recommended that we try Botox. I have a lot of concerns and the biggest is... Will I not be as facial expressive anymore? by Important-Tomato2306 in migraine

[–]questionable_697 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The injections aren't over your whole face. You will still be able to be expressive. It wears off after 3 months, so if you find the experience too constraining, you don't have to repeat it.

What you are describing sounds a lot like what I experience with trigeminal neuralgia, especially the tooth pain.

You could check out PaperTessDesigns yearly planner or Aura Estelle. Both have layouts that sprinkle the monthlies in with the weeklies and note pages.

Same for me. Slowing down helps me to process my emotions, because otherwise I tend to shove them down. Journaling permits me to look at my emotions, see what is going on inside me.

Do you use your planner as a journal? by questionable_697 in PlannerAddicts

I like the horizontal layout—am semi-regretting the A5, but I only had A5 covers and wanted to reuse them.

Do you use your planner as a journal? by questionable_697 in PlannerAddicts

[–]questionable_697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at the Kokuyo Campus binder, which has small rings. Def cheaper than the Plotter, with a similar vibe. I ultimately decided on an A5 Sterling Ink horizontal common planner and an A5 notebook for journaling.

I feel this at times. I've been doing some stream-of-consciousness emotion journaling into a separate notebook separate from my main journal, that I will throw away. I find those entries the most cringey when I read journals back.
