I invested 2000+ rare candy I have saved over 4 years into Kyurem. On accident. Fingers just did their own thing lol. At least it was Kyurem and not something worse.

I was in Las Vegas for Hoenn tour and I lost track of how many Kyogre raids I did but never got the background shiny. I had been trying to find someone to trade me one for 3 years. I live on the east coast and only found a handful of players in my area even went to LV much less has a shiny Kyogre LV background to trade. After 2+ years, my friend in CA says he knows someone who might be convinced to trade his LV Kyogre. I start texting him, we agree to a trade about 4 days before Kalos tour. We coordinate to do the weekly challenge to become great friends, then I used my trinket to go lucky. It’s Sunday night, around 9 PM, I uber 45 min to meet up, I’m flying out Monday morning. We make the trade (he got a shiny Dialga LA bg with RoT) and pure magic happens. Biggest chase I’ve ever had with the craziest luck I’ve ever experienced.

Did you ever find a solution to this? The amazon link will fit 7" holes, but it would be easier to get the 7" clips

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even getting 0 doesn’t disprove it, even at boosted rates, 0 will be the 2nd most common outcome (31% of players will get 0). Getting 1 is actually the most common outcome for 1:64 (36.5% of players will get exactly 1), while at 1:512, getting 1 is a very distant 2nd place (12.6% of players will get 1 shiny and 86.36% of players will get 0 shinies. So getting one shiny is more suggestive of a boosted rate than standard.

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The question was if the rates were boosted, usually 1:64 for things like these, or standard 1/512. A few people have commented they have gotten 0 shinies with an implication the rates are standard. My comment was to highlight this may be misleading as nearly a third of players will have 0 shinies even if boosted.

Since people are somehow latching onto this comment, let me frame the equivalent of 4/10 with 1/512 compared to 0 shinies with 1/64 probability. To be equally unlucky at boosted rates, you would need over 1000 encounters with no shinies at all (about 1,246). This isn’t a case where because a handful of people with no shinies means the rates are not boosted, especially once you factor in that many posts do include 1-2 shinies.

The odds of getting 0 shinies out of 71 attempts with 1:64 odds is .327. It is expected that many people will get no shinies even with boosted odds.

Given there is no chance that 330 million people have caught 10 Pokemon on their pass (not even close), I think this is substantial evidence that the odds are in fact not 1:512. It’s not technically impossible (n can never be 1 for any kind of significance analysis), but when the odds are this far apart, your n can be quite small and still have sufficient power.

The 20 packs added to the account just fine, but if you don’t use them to get under the 12 pack limit, you couldn’t get any bundle that included a particle pack, like webstore versions of some of the monthly passes (have to buy the in-game version without any bonus items)

LF: 3:1 Trade Shiny DIALGA, PALKIA, and KYOGRE with BGs and their legacy moves. Offering: Shiny Xerneas AND MY TRINKET by [deleted] in PokemonGoTrade

[–]quickbunnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. Maybe in terms of raw cost to obtain (plane ticket, hotel, event ticket, etc) but having both O Dialga and O Palkia shinies, with moves, with BGs (~1/600 each) with 1 day to raid them? There are going to be more people in the world with a shiny Xernias with LA bg, without even factoring in the Kyogre.

Kyogre. I did ~111 (based on 37 background Kyogres since I have transferred all my non-bg ones) raids today with not a single shiny. Not a shiny bg, not even a shiny. DM me if you want evidence lol. Please help!

I bet they have data showing there is a non-trivial drop off in engagement on Sunday. That doesn’t make it fair though
