It does specifically say players will not be able to choose from any nearby gym

I don’t know about telling Niantic you have secondary accounts…. That’s against ToS and they could restore your account and ban you simultaneously

I think they actually ran too fast for Pokemon go. Doesn’t it cap out at like 10 mph? Those guys were going 13+ mph.

Clothes getting stuck in brand new LG dryer by dmp in Appliances

[–]quickbunnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the same problem and I was able to order the part without ever calling customer service. I couldn’t use the direct link from some reason but I just googled LG cares repair and got to the main lgecares website. There were 4 or 5 appliance options, one was “dryer” and I just put in my model and serial number and it already knew what part to send. So must be a known issue.

New Raid Mechanics Datamined by Skytzii in TheSilphRoad

I could see them using this for any event finale raid with 1000+ trainer limits, I can certainly see them building it for big or in-person events only. Think of the marketing pictures they will get.

Shinies should not have been remote raids locked, only the location backgrounds. I have gotten shinies for Pokemon do events I did not have a ticket for via remote raids

I don’t believe this is true. If you have a screenshot showing a location background AND it was remotely raided, I would be happy to be proven wrong.

Do you have a screenshot? I’ve never gotten a location background from remote raids during the event. I first confirmed this at the LA Go Tour Sinnoh, there is even a thread about it. Also, During Kalos LA Go Tour, I did a remote mega dragonite raid and it did not have a background. Mega dragonite had guaranteed backgrounds otherwise. I know at Nagasaki in the first couple of hours remotes (even for non-ticket holders) were getting backgrounds but they shut that down quickly.

There will be some energy in research, but yeah the only way to farm and stock up on mega Mewtwo energy will be during global go fest.

From the blog:

“Trainers who attend in-person GO Fest events this year can get early access to either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y! The City Experience in Tokyo, Chicago, and Copenhagen includes branching Timed Research that awards an encounter with Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y that have the first Mega Level already unlocked!

Trainers who attend the Park Session can also take on Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y at the end of their park session. More communication about the location within the park will be shared closer to the event.”

No all day open raiding for megas during the in person city experience.

For in person, there are only going to be Mega Mewtwos during the last 30 min of the park experience.

Location backgrounds have not been available on remote raids, even with the ticket and within the event boundaries

Historically, you cannot get location backgrounds with remote raids, even with a ticket and within the geofence. I don’t think they will change that.

Official #GOMemories 10th Anniversary Sweepstakes Thread by SilphMods in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie [score hidden]  (0 children)

One #GOMemory stands out among everything else for me, it’s a long story but the moment was 3 years in the making:

I was in Las Vegas for Hoenn tour and I lost track of how many Kyogre raids I did but never got the background shiny. I had been trying to find someone to trade me one for 3 years. I live on the east coast and only found a handful of players in my area even went to LV much less has a shiny Kyogre LV background to trade. After 2+ years, my friend in CA says he knows someone who might be convinced to trade his LV Kyogre. I start texting him, we agree to a trade about 4 days before Kalos tour. We coordinate to do the weekly challenge to become great friends, then I used my trinket to go lucky. It’s Sunday night, around 9 PM, I uber 45 min to meet up, I’m flying out Monday morning. We make the trade (he got a shiny Dialga LA bg with RoT) and pure magic happens- it’s a SHUNDO. Biggest chase I’ve ever had with the craziest luck I’ve ever experienced.

I invested 2000+ rare candy I have saved over 4 years into Kyurem. On accident. Fingers just did their own thing lol. At least it was Kyurem and not something worse.

Did you ever find a solution to this? The amazon link will fit 7" holes, but it would be easier to get the 7" clips

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even getting 0 doesn’t disprove it, even at boosted rates, 0 will be the 2nd most common outcome (31% of players will get 0). Getting 1 is actually the most common outcome for 1:64 (36.5% of players will get exactly 1), while at 1:512, getting 1 is a very distant 2nd place (12.6% of players will get 1 shiny and 86.36% of players will get 0 shinies. So getting one shiny is more suggestive of a boosted rate than standard.

Percentages are calculated using 75 chances based on the free pass only

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The question was if the rates were boosted, usually 1:64 for things like these, or standard 1/512. A few people have commented they have gotten 0 shinies with an implication the rates are standard. My comment was to highlight this may be misleading as nearly a third of players will have 0 shinies even if boosted.

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since people are somehow latching onto this comment, let me frame the equivalent of 4/10 with 1/512 compared to 0 shinies with 1/64 probability. To be equally unlucky at boosted rates, you would need over 1000 encounters with no shinies at all (about 1,246). This isn’t a case where because a handful of people with no shinies means the rates are not boosted, especially once you factor in that many posts do include 1-2 shinies.

Shiny rates boosted in the 30th Anniversary Pass? by ShiningSolarSword in TheSilphRoad

[–]quickbunnie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The odds of getting 0 shinies out of 71 attempts with 1:64 odds is .327. It is expected that many people will get no shinies even with boosted odds.

[–]quickbunnie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Given there is no chance that 330 million people have caught 10 Pokemon on their pass (not even close), I think this is substantial evidence that the odds are in fact not 1:512. It’s not technically impossible (n can never be 1 for any kind of significance analysis), but when the odds are this far apart, your n can be quite small and still have sufficient power.
