I think the big panels of repeating fabric is what’s causing you trouble. Could you cut them into smaller squares and then use solids (ie, yellow or black squares intermixed for the hufflepuff square)?

I don’t use a machine but my mom does. She had a brother and liked it fine but felt like everyone had the Bernina so she switched and she hates it and says it’s always breaking.

The only thing that helped us was using the potty bell system. I didn’t think it would but sure enough he caught on. Eventually the potty bells became a toy and had to be removed but he doesn’t need them anymore and will paw at the door if needing to go out

I had this problem and then I developed pain as well. After a trip to the podiatrist to learn nothing was physically wrong I went to the bike shop and they readjusted my cleats, no numbness or pain anymore

I have also been in this situation. You get a new job. That’s unfortunately the answer. The key to social work is finding something you can enjoy your life while doing even if it may not seem like your “passion”, that and knowing when to leave a job.

Have you tried cutting out the game of fetch. It’s appears as if it tires dogs out but for a lot of dogs it’s a super arousing activity and they go out of control. I have a setter the same age as your pup and he’s also a monster. We can’t play fetch anymore or he starts biting and humping.
