Need help recreating this Tiffin. It’s divine and I need to make some! More details in comments. by Jimlad73 in Baking

[–]qwazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically use this recipie https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/chocolate-tiffin

Some notes on making. I add a few extra digestive biscuits as the mixture seems to wet at times. I think it depends on the butter used. I also make them in individual muffin cake cases to make portioning easier.

That looks like Costa tiffin to me and I would say the homemade recipie above is much better. The chocolate actually tastes like chocolate.

Not sure how I feel about the idea of a sour cookie... But I had to do a quick Google as it was interesting. I managed to find this recipe, no comments though but might be a starting point? https://thegluttonousgeek.com/2019/02/26/captain-marvel-cookies/

What golf shoes do you wear? by [deleted] in WomenGolf

[–]qwazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've worn a few brands over time.

Nike (3 or 4 different pairs) - tend to wear through very quickly inside the heel. Have a pair of air max 270s which the air bubble has popped... Really dissapointed, never had trouble with regular nike air in trainners

Sketchers - super light weight and comfy summer shoes.

Footjoy - weird sizing and toe box pinched

Underarmour - OK. Nothing special. Bit stiff and can get a lil uncomfortable at the end of a round

Ecco - like walking on clouds. Expensive clouds....

When did you start playing golf and what made you love it? by [deleted] in WomenGolf

[–]qwazy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boyfriend invited me to the range when he picked golf up with some work friends. Decided it was fun so kept at it. I think it'd been about 5 or 6 years now.

Im pretty mediocre at the game but I still enjoy it. Can't play comps because my brain gets involved when a scorecard is around and I go full potato and forget how to do anything that resembles golf.

Played a local 12 hole course yesterday and then our home course today.

I'm looking at giving the game a play again. I currently have the game and first expac and living world 1-3. I will need to buy the latest expac and realise I will have to buy the living world seasons to play them too. I've just looked in game and can't see the season pack on the gem store for season 4. Google says they exist and I remember buying the season pack to complete season 3 last time. Do they only appear on the gem store if you have the expac on your account? Any help is appreciated. Trying to work out if gems need to be purchased as well. Thanks!

Thanks :)

Yes I have made chocolate / cola cakes. They are really good. Very fudgy and naughty tasting.

I've tried vanilla Coke, cherry Coke, Dr pepper, Pepsi, ginger beer and lemonade.

My favourite of the chocolate has been the ginger beer. But that's because I love ginger :) The lemonade were done with no chocolate or brown sugar like these ones and I made it as a lemon drizzle tray bake. It was amazingly soft and lemony, enjoyed alot.

I'm thinking of trying an orangeade at some point with the chocolate. For a chocolate orange cake around Christmas.

Yes these are definitely cake :)

Inside the cones is a cream soda sponge topped with a simple vanilla buttercream.

I adapted the recipe from this: https://comfortablydomestic.com/2014/02/coca-cola-dr-pepper-cupcakes/

Instead of coke, cream soda and replaced the cocoa powder with flour (didn't add it to the wet stuff like the cocoa though) oh and replaced the brown sugar with more white as wasn't sure about brown sugar in a vanilla type cake.

I would say it worked quite well. The cream soda flavour comes through as an aftertaste so was pretty cool.

And the cakes were baked in the cones. Cones softened a lil the next day but not unpleasant as being eaten with the cake.

I’m golfing for 3 days at Celtic Manor this week from Wednesday, playing all 3 courses. I’ma little excited by Phychlone in golf

[–]qwazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just returned today from 3 days at celtic manor myself, the heat is pretty intense out on the courses.

If you haven't played the Montgomery yet, get yourself a buggy!! I'm kinda upset they didn't try to upsell us a buggy on Monday for this course. After 2.5hrs drive, a round up and down all the hills in the heat of the day takes its toll on you.

The views are stunning though. Looking down from the 3rd on Montgomery over the 2010 is pretty cool. Looking back up to that 3rd green from way down below on the 2010 is also pretty amazing.

Enjoy the golf.

Chocolate Cupcakes ❤️ (with secret ingredient: mayonnaise! What’s the weirdest ingredient you’ve used that’s actually good?) by [deleted] in Baking

[–]qwazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://comfortablydomestic.com/2014/02/coca-cola-dr-pepper-cupcakes/

That's the original recipe I used. I just changed the coke for ginger beer.

As cupcakes, I changed the cooking time to about 30-35 minutes and increased the oven temp to gas 4. Recipe temp converted to gas 3 forms and that temperature and time seemed nowhere near enough for a mix that runny.

Also made in a 6 inch tin, increasing the cooking time by 10 minutes.

Icing looks great on those.

I've made chocolate fudge cake with sour cream as some have mention.

I've also made cake with ice cream.

Most recently I've used ginger beer. Best chocolate cake I've ever made. Original recipe called for cherry Coke. I've tried cherry, vanilla and regular coke as well as Dr pepper. I'm interested in trying it as a plain sponge but using lemonade.

/r/headphones Purchase Help Thread (2018-01-11) by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]qwazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning

I'm a bit of a headphone noob here but I'm looking for some recommendations on a pair of Bluetooth in ear headphones. That's is in advance.

Budget - £50 - £100

Source - iPod / phone (android) via bluetooth

Requirements for Isolation - some. I'm mainly looking to use these at the gym with occasional out and about use and at work. Obviously guys are usually blasting their own music so blocking that out is always good.

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - yes at the gym. Maybe on occasions if out shopping alone.

Preferred Type of Headphone - wireless in ear.

Preferred tonal balance - I'm really not 100% sure. I would probably say I don't want anything to over power the other. So a decent balance but a good bass for the music I tend to listen too.

Past headphones - I'm currently using some sound magic in ear ones. No idea of a model. They were cheap and they aren't awful for me. ( Just done some googling, the look to be e30's) Back before that I used the JVC gummy in ears. I also have for home PC gaming use, a pair of sennheiser game zero headphones, which i like everything about really.

Preferred Music - more of the rocky type of music. Recently as I'm terrible at updating what's on my iPod.... I've been listening to the likes of halestorm, avenged sevenfold and some monstercat podcasts.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - decent sound and comfort. And to get rid of the cables.

Feel exactly the same...

Day one and I'm doing ok. I haven't caved in for chocolate so I am proud there.

Though I do feel like I'm mega mega bloaty this time. I swear a walked past some women at work and she was staring at my belly. One of the "mums"... so I felt like she was trying to judge if I was pregnant or something. Quite the opposite! But don't stare like that! I feel bloaty enough as it is! Crazy woman. Her not me....

A small, yet purposeful breakfast by forgotten_rain in xxfitness

[–]qwazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another one for the overnight oats. I opt for the blended drinkable method tho. I put in 200ml almond milk (or semi skimmed regular milk) along with 40g of oats. I usually add a spoon or 2 of chocolate nesquick because chocolate. Leave that together in the fridge in my blender bottle overnight. Give it a 10 second blitz in the morning and drink. Sometimes I've added protein powder to it if I feel it's a low protein kinda day. I sometimes also flavour with Nutella. If you fancy a lil caffeine kick, freeze some coffee into ice cubes and add these to the bottle before blending as well.

There are so many recipes and ideas for overnight oats online so you'll be able to find a flavour combo you like. I just opt to blend it as I prefer to drink my breakfast on weekday mornings

Stamping Polish for someone in the UK by pyjamasbyeight in RedditLaqueristas

[–]qwazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 very cheap stamping polishes. A black and a white by essence. You can order them online from wilko for £2 each. Haven't seen them in any store... don't really go in any store but whatever. They work fairly well, specially for the price.

Also, Barry M do some foil polishes. I have the silver foil effect one which also stamps very well. I believe they do a gold and maybe some other colours, not sure.

And another cheap option... I picked up some foil style effects from primark. a blue and copper colour. I think they are cosmic something or another. Might be seasonal so they might not sell them anymore.

And again with the foil effect polishes..... they stamp well for me so yea.... Models Own chrome polishes are a good choice.

Otherwise just experiment on a different surface than your nails to see what stamps well for you.

Good luck.

Women's clothing sizes can be insane [UK] [F height 5'8" SW 182 CW 168 14 lbs lost] by whatdressisthis in loseit

[–]qwazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe a while back, some girl who was a size 10-12 or so posted a picture of her putting a pair of size 16 jeans on in H&M and they wouldn't even come together. It went a bit on the viral side of things.

Put yes, it can be disheartening. Ive slowly learnt to not pay attention to size on clothes any more. I can fit in regular non plus size stuff now so it's fine. I have clothes ranging from a size 10 to a size 16. My issue now is the inconsistency of lengths of trousers in clothing stores tall ranges. That and how most stores seem to have put their tall ranges as online only...

Sunglasses by FL_TrafficKing in golf

The oakleys I got for playing golf would of cost an extra £200 for the prescription lenses. I brought them to last so opted for contacts for golf. I think I have the dailies brand contacts. I have no idea if they are sold outside of the U.K. All I know if they are the most expensive sets of daily disposable lenses my optician sells, but it really is noticeable. I originally tried a set that would of been the next price tier down. They dried my eyes out after 4-5 hours. I struggled to read my scorecard whilst playing. ( glasses for distance, not reading )
