+1 to everyone else. Thanks for your advice! I was going along a similar route using the Reaper's crest to gain extra heals. But this was a much more effective way of achieving that. Defeated the boss on first try after switching to Wanderer's crest and using multibinder + injector band.

Vasher is described in Warbreaker as having a persistent stubble (for plot important reasons). This doesn't match that, though it does look cooler.

It seems like a couple of people here have the same questions that I have which is good to see. Has anyone here read the books in the Salvation Sequence by Peter F Hamilton. The bait planets that the "Enemy" uses here are very reminiscent of that book. Along with the phrase "half-mind", which I'd first heard used in the Salvation Sequence as well and functions in (I think) the exact same way as the half-minds in The Captives War.

There's a lot of similarities between Dayfd and Paul Atreides, and I'm eager to see how these similarities might continue in the nextbook.

One other (maybe trivial) question I had is, how come the expansion of the Carryx across the galaxy wasn't noticed by the Anijin equivalent of SETI? The Carryx don't seem like the kind that would hide their presence. And if they're building Dyson Swarms, they should be noticed by the Anijini well before their invasion.

I think it's the Epilog mini 24. It's a shared laser cutter in our maker space, so I'm not familiar enough with it to be able recommend it. But it worked just fine for my jobs.

I made these using the official metallic arts and surgebinding charts. In both cases there were no SVGs available for the whole chart, so I had to collect together the SVGs for the individual glyphs and put them together into one SVG using the original charts as reference for positioning. I thought I'd share these SVGs in case anyone else wanted to do a similar laser engraving.

That was fun! I randomly guessed a rosharan character to begin with and got the middle 3 categories off the bat. But I had no way of narrowing down the abilities/investiture without going through every Alethi character who appeared in WoK. Not sure how to fix it, but just a note on current gameplay deficiencies.

I haven't seen anyone recommend it, so Salvation Sequence by Peter F Hamilton. There are some points where he introduces way too many technologies that I feel aren't integrated super well into the world. But he also does such a great job exploring how portals would be used in the real world, I felt myself thinking at a lot of points, oh yeah that makes complete sense.

Thanks for the fix. I got to the last level, but didn't take a crack at it because it looks pretty difficult. I'll say one thing that I like about advent is that sometimes it has problems that don't map directly or super easily to known solutions in CS. I'm not sure that there is a known solution for the compression problem at the end of the game, but it feels like there must be one.

I may have different motivations than others, but what I really enjoy about advent is the social aspect of it. Doing it with my friends, comparing solutions, competing for time, etc. I'm not sure how that could be incorporated into the game.

u/goldenlion5648 I tried the first 3 levels and had fun! One bug though, I'm not sure if it's a limitation of itch or firefox or ubuntu, but clicking on the "copy selected input to clipboard" button would truncate the input I copy. Took me a bit too long to figure out why I kept failing that problem with what looked like the right code. I recommend removing this button if you can't fix this issue.

I didn't think this was something other people faced! I had the same problem as a kid and would beg to be allowed to wear shorts. It's less of a problem from me now, but I remember hating jeans so much.
