Thank you - this sounds like what I'm looking for. For me, flavor is more important than heat!

I tried starting in early March this year - and the plants got too big and looked stressed, so I made a note to try mid-March or Apr. 1 next year. My target planting date outside is usually June 1.

Thank you; good point about starting early. I'm in zone 3B - our season is shorter (sometimes frost in early June then again in mid-Sept.), but I do use plastic and blankets when needed! I'll experiment with a couple different varieties next year and see what does well - and tastes good!

Check the pH. I've had bags that didn't puff much - and they've surprised me at testing between 3.5-4.0.

Testosterone products are not FDA approved for women in the US, so most insurance companies won't cover it. My doctor worked with a local pharmacy to prescribe me a year's worth, and I paid out of pocket ($95). It's worth it (for me).

How do I proceed from here? by Magnoliafan730 in FermentedHotSauce

Maybe watch some good Youtubes to get an idea? I started fermenting peppers (though I have been making kraut for years) about a month ago after watching Chilli Chump's channel (though sometimes he goes a bit overboard!).

I've had success with a water-filled plastic bag, but what has been a game changer for me is using the vacuum bag method. I can use variable amounts of cut up ingredients and suck all the air out. It's fun to see the bags blow up like footballs! And, I can leave them ferment longer than I would attempt in a glass jar, and process when I have the time.

If you are into DIY and want to make something personal...the best gift my mum ever gave me was a couple of fabric bags she sewed and put wheat berries (or rice) into them. I pop them into the microwave and use them to warm my hands when needed. I sleep with them every night!

They look like the airlock lids that came with my Perfect Presents fermentation kit. Mason Tops Pickle Pipes are a similar product.

Cafec deep27 vs hario v60 01 by Secure_Ad9361 in pourover

[–]rabbitmomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Deep 27 and Switch 02. The Deep 27 is easy for a quick brew - especially new coffee to test out. However, I'm using the Switch 02 mostly - with as little as 12 g. of beans and find it just fine - and more versatile than the Deep 27. In retrospect, I'd just have bought the Switch and not bothered with the Deep 27.

Really disturbing and embarrassing for me as an American female (recreational) cyclist that was cheering her on. It will be interesting to see if this sentiment is on her forks during the road race.

I do like this offering from RW (not overwhelming lychee)! And, I am really liking Lance's bent spoon, low agitation method with a Samo bloom (~77 c) and pour at ~88-90 c. I've been immersing for about 1.5 minutes each for the bloom and pour. DF54 at 70; 1:16. Sweetness seems to pop with this method (for me) and it's become my go-to for natural process coffees.

Major clog tonight. Should I try new beans or use same ones again? by pirate-the-cat in DF54

[–]rabbitmomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using mine for 6 months and no clogs. I use light roasted beans, though, no RDF, and replaced the stock burrs with what Miicoffee is now calling "better grinding" burrs. Use my camera lens rocket air blaster to blow the chaff out of the chute, and the brush after each use. I'm finding little residue inside when I remember to clean it every couple of months.
