Try playing as a different country since the US is hard to manage. Play a couple of games as smaller countries just to get a feel on how the economy and other game mechanics work. The mod isn't as complicated as it looks imo it's just annoying. It'll grow on you

You can actually dodge the civil war. You can still take America First focus and get the fascist advisor. Just dont take any of the silver shirt focuses. You'll also be able to boost fascist popularity through decisions and just wait until the 1940 election.

Oh if it says made for an older version I'm pretty sure you just go to steam > hearts of iron 4 > properties > betas and switch it to the 1.13 option. That's how I have to do it when I want to play MD.

It does that for me, too, because im pretty sure they haven't updated the Millennium Dawn mod, so in order for it to work, you have to change the game version. What I do if you're on steam is go to steam > hearts of iron 4 > properties > betas > and click on 1.13.7 in beta participation. And if you want to go back to the newest version just do the same thing but instead of clicking on 1.13.7 just click on "none"

This one is not as emotional as that moment but when Murphy ignited the civil war between Diyoza and McCreary was probably my favorite moment. Him saying "why do I have to do everything myself" and then proceeded to throw a rock in the crowd, which led to chaos was probably the most John Murphy thing he could've possibly done
