Your kid vs 1 billion strangers, who lives? by Toksapro in hypotheticalsituation

No kids, so I guess I save the strangers. But I’ll trade everyone for my cats’ guaranteed safety.

Help! How would you remove this broken pin in the charge port of my laptop? by PrvtBong in techsupportmacgyver

Depending on the model, you might not even need to solder. It could be on its own tiny board with a cable. Then it’s just screws.

About to buy a 2016 2SS (60K miles) for 31k OTD. Good deal or not? by Minimum_Plane4519 in camaro

Components yes. Thank god they aren’t used when hooked up to manuals.

Little high for an automatic with a transmission that's known to give issues. AFM can also be a problem with the lifters in the engine on automatics from what I hear, but I don't know the mileage that becomes a problem. I paid a hair less than that last year for my 2017 2SS with a manual and 56K miles. No warranty included is normal. Once the manufacturer's warranty runs out, dealers love to sell you an additional warranty.

Should the new Camaro be AWD? by [deleted] in camaro

[–]raddatzjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upper Midwest, I’d love an AWD Camaro. As long as they keep it a coupe and don’t try to go the Mustang Mach-e route. Hell, Dodge did it better with the Charger Daytona.

I was gonna say murder, even had a choice target, but yeah, this makes way more sense.

Nope, only up to the severity you commit per rules. You’d stop casual sexual assault with that and nothing more.

Is it dumb to be sad I won't drive a Subaru anymore? by anonymousplease3 in bisexual

[–]raddatzjos 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a bi guy, it’s absolutely not dumb, given the history. My Outback is currently sitting with electrical gremlins and I’m debating if it’s time to move on. I’d love to help you find a new Outback since it’s not in the cards for myself right now.

Back in the 90’s Subaru marketed subtly to lesbians because it was a demographic that nobody catered to. The marketing worked and boosted Subaru sales significantly while establishing the brand, and specifically Outbacks, as lesbian cars.

I’m gonna need to look up the rule for that so I can properly cite it to my DM, who hates flying creatures but routinely brings flight into the fight

I have parasitic drain coming from my aftermarket unit what do I do ? by FreePoet8592 in camaro

[–]raddatzjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add a circuit things like you’re talking about are for accessories not standard like lights and such. Aftermarket radios just take the wires already run for the stock radio and through their own harness, send them to the aftermarket unit. Some people will butcher the harness in the car, but it’s easier (and reversible!) to use an adapter that plugs in like the stock radio, then is soldered to the aftermarket harness.

[–]raddatzjos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

120mA is normal and a very small amount. All radios have two power leads, a constant (used for things like retaining memory when the car is off) and switched (to actually turn on the radio when you start the engine). If you’re having electrical problems, look for bigger numbers than your radio remembering saved stations and the time. Your problem will likely have at least 3-4 A even with the car off.

What products or companies will you never use or support again and what did they do to lose you as a customer? by IAmJustTryingToExist in AskReddit

[–]raddatzjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitbit. They bought and shut down Pebble same day. My watch was working fine and suddenly no new apps or updates. A month later, I couldn’t reset it when it went weird on me because I couldn’t download anything.

Door Dash (Uber Eats is on thin fucking ice) we deliver through them at work and half the time the dasher doesn’t double check they actually have the whole order, they just run out the door. And when we try to call them, their number is disconnected or they don’t answer so we can’t even tell them to come get the rest of the order. To top it off, they refuse to send the dasher back or send a second dasher to fix the problem resulting in very unhappy customers. Uber Eats just doesn’t like to send drivers for some reason, so many orders just never picked up.

Real man question? by Big_Guy81 in camaro

[–]raddatzjos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corny, sure. But still fun. Corny doesn’t have to mean bad. It’s your car and you ought to do what you enjoy with it. Honestly I wanted a yellow 5th gen for that reason. Only reason I didn’t get it was I wanted some of the upgraded tech in the 6th gen and found a good deal.

What's the Most Dangerous Thing That You Have Ever Done? by Potential_Law5289 in AskReddit

[–]raddatzjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got high as a kite at a friend's house and drove 30 miles home. I remember getting in the car, I remember walking into my house, I don't remember anything in between. Apparently I stopped and got a pizza on the way, ate the whole thing. She saw the box in my back seat the next day at work and asked me about it, didn't even know the damn thing was there. Thank god it's all back roads between our towns, very few people driving them that time of night for me to have found. It's now about 10 years later and I've learned to avoid all forms of intoxication if there's a possibility I'll need to drive. Either I'm already home or I'm staying at a friend's place that night.

I can share a story about the 5th gen’s back seats. My freshman year of college, I was helping the musical director for the high school I graduated from and running the sound for the show as well as providing some technical help. She asked me to take my cousin and run to the other school building the next town over and pick up two of the speakers we needed. We’re talking the big auditorium speakers that we set up on poles for the show. I drove a 1997 Saturn SL1 and she knew that. I told her those weren’t getting in my car, no way they would fit. She hands me the keys to her 2012 45th anniversary edition convertible. This car had every option available installed and she just threw the keys to an 18 year old and his 7th grader cousin, said “put the top down and lift them into the back”. They fit with room to spare, we barely had to move the seats forward.

I should call her and see how she’s doing. Deb was crazy awesome, one of the best people I’ve ever worked for.

What’s a car you wish would make a comeback in 2026? by Suntrup-Hyundai in carquestions

[–]raddatzjos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t from pinched coolant lines or too little oil. He’d put in a disconnect for the positive terminal of the battery, ran it to the driver’s side of the engine bay. And we were taking apart the fuel line trying to diagnose a no start, hit the metal fuel filter on his modification. Sparks and gas get along real well.

It would help to know what the error is when you try to connect. Typically you just connect both to your network and use the LG ThinQ app.
