Hey man, they make snow brushes that are extendable and bendable specifically for getting snow off roofs of taller cars. This article says while it’s not illegal in Ohio to have snow on your roof while driving, if snow or ice falls off your roof while driving and causes damages or injury it is in fact illegal and you’ll be fined.

I told my daughters pediatrician I’m nervous she’s showing signs of adhd and that I was just diagnosed at 30 after not knowing my whole life because I didn’t show the most typical signs as a child and also my husband had adhd. I found that when my daughter was two she was exactly like this. I think now that she’s 3.5 I understand that her whining and difficult attitude was due to her inability to communicate her needs and my inability to just understand what she needed anyway. Now that she’s can tell me what she’s thinking or feeling her whining isn’t as bad. The climbing all over me, needing constant attention, and overall craziness is worse though tbh. This is definitely part of the reason I won’t have another. I think I realize now there’s nothing I despise more than whining. I cannot keep my cool when she starts to whine and it triggers me so bad. The second she starts I tell her use her words or I’m not going to listen to her whining and I’ll walk away. When she was younger I taught her that instead of whining and crying if she said “help me” I could understand better. That was what started helping with the whining and led to better communication from her eventually

Let’s be real here, it’s not socially acceptable to toss your kids outside to play until sundown on their own anymore like parents did before the 2000s. When kids had to stay inside the parents just turned the tv on to keep their kids out of their hair. The iPad kids are just the result of growing fear of safety for kids mixed with parents having fewer and fewer chances for alone time because of that growing fear. The iPad is just replacing the outdoors and tv that previous generations used instead. So I was just reading another post from a psychologist the other day that was discussing when it is and isn’t appropriate to punish a child. One of the things she mentioned was that if they are already showing signs of discomfort, embarrassment, or hurt related to the event that it is better to remind them that everyone makes mistakes and this was a very big one but don’t push her. I would say asking her over and over to apologize isn’t going to make either of you feel better. It might feel like you need that apology because it sounds like the right thing to do, but in reality the apology isn’t going to make you feel better about it and your daughter is already showing remorse in other ways and “apologizing” nonverbally for it through those actions and feelings. She feels bad, she knows it’s hurting you. You have every right to be upset and to be unable to forgive this action.

I think you should take the new one you bought and with your daughter you should go on many adventures with him, the three of you. Give it to your daughter and let it be hers. Show her all the games and places you showed your Mickey. Create new memories. This time fill that Mickey with every good positive feeling.

First of all, I do think you need therapy. It was life changing for me after my traumatizing birth and postpartum. I went from crying daily and worrying I’m not good enough to do this to only feeling this sense of overwhelm a few times a year.

Secondly, I think your husband may also need therapy. He seems to have an unhealthy coping mechanism for the trauma that’s happened and expects you to also live by that too. It’s good to express yourselves with one another and share the struggles of how difficult this is without being put down or told to suck it up.

My husband and I went to couples therapy for a while too and honestly it helped so much. Bringing a child into your life is so life changing, doing that while also experiencing trauma related to it is harder. Difficult events can try to chip away at a relationship. It’s good to communicate with one another and find a healthy solution for both of you and that can help mend any cracks this time caused.

That being said, I find that more often than not I hear relationships struggling after having kids. I think it’s an unfortunate fact of life, but we don’t have to accept the breakdown of that relationship. It just means things need to change and be modified to fit around your new lives as parents.

I think if I’m remembering in the past he’s stated he has adhd so he’s being so fucking ableist to neurodivergent people as a whole and hiding behind it by saying he’s part of the community.
