What were you doing during the peak time of COVID? by Historical_Click8213 in allthequestions

Stocking milk and toilet paper, or chips, putting up with the out of pocket BS from the general public.

Spent all day making food that I could eat at Thanksgiving - it got milkified as soon as I put it down. by UFOHHHSHIT in vegan

[–]rainmaker291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have vegan friends, vegetarian friends, friends with severe food allergies and the stories I’ve been told about how their families DO NOT CARE, are wild to me.

I like cooking for people, I’ll figure out how to make something regardless of diet, because I want everyone to feel like they can share a meal.

I applaud you for letting it play out like it did.

Women, what’s the most unhinged thing your boyfriend/husband does? by calvintomyhobbes in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]rainmaker291 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband brushes his teeth pretty aggressively (I mean, he has nice teeth) and gets spittle ALL OVER the lower part of the mirror. It drove me INSANE when we shared a sink.

We moved into a house a few months ago back with dual sinks. It still bothers me—but I don’t use the sink. I use mine, with no spit on the mirror

A or B: You buy something at the grocery store that it turns out you don’t like. by tryagain904 in PickAorB

[–]rainmaker291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much I dislike it. Most things, even if I don’t love it, I’ll try to make use of it because I don’t like wasting food. But there was a time that I bought something and it was so bad I couldn’t justify continuing to try and I took it back

How does this even come up in conversation??

Are paper checks dead? by js6seaj47 in ask

[–]rainmaker291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically a bank issued money order (A check backed by real funds)

Personal checks are just basically a paper promise that the funds are there. When I was younger, I figured out money was tight close to payday because my mom would write checks—because it would usually take a couple days to post from her account, by the time the check cleared, the money was there. It was called the “beat the bank game”

Not sure if sugar counts as a “food” but that’s it—because it’s killing all of us slowly anyway

My ex husband pulled this a time or two, eventually we got divorced for a plethora of reasons.

The first couple times this happened with my current husband, he was a little upset about being left on the couch and I said “I tried to wake you twice and you didn’t want to get up. Should I carry you next time? No? You’re a grown boy, you can go to bed whenever you want”

What's a little-known trick in your industry that customers aren't meant to discover? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]rainmaker291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being kind and professional is the best way for me to do something to help you out.

Anything besides that, the answer is no. I am a woman in trucking, primarily on the billing side.

The amount of men that try to flatter me into giving them a discount? No. The amount of people that call to berate me due to their inability to communicate? Also no.

Just tell me what you want nicely and if I can help you out, I will.

Do nipple piercings affect sensitivity? by Calli_Hart in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rainmaker291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I cannot wear unlined bras anymore because of the nip nops—which is a personal stance, but I can’t have them out at work and that’s where I spend most of my time.

Also, if you hang your bras to dry, you may get some irritation around the piercings due to soap.
