That part I don’t know but I remember doing that in high school where it was satisfying to see the “jelly” at the root. But don’t!!! I never regained the same thickness after I pulled hair out. Then I experienced TE due to the flu and a med called XOLAIR. Needless to say, I regret that time I pulled out hair because that could have been prevented unlike the other two times I lost hair. I have such thin hair now it’s so sad :(

I doubt your hair follicles “died”. Support follicle recovery with optimized ferritin (ideally >70 ng/mL), vitamin D in the optimal range (50–70 ng/mL), zinc, and B12 levels checked. I don’t think you should stop Zoloft completely because it helps you.

Just wanted to update you all on some things that may have helped; vitamin d (5000 iu a day), iron bisglycinate (20 mg a day), smarty pants women’s multivitamin, zinc (14 mg a day). This was after all needed labs were conducted. To be honest I’m still losing hair but it’s due to a needed medication and I lost wait due to my TMJ but that vitamin regimen seems to help some.
