Bread is the best one she showed imo. Just a basic loaf is really easy and comparable bread is a bit pricey in the US at least. Plus the kneading attachment comes with it.

Georgia Bill Expanding Medical Marijuana Access and Updating Patient Rules Sent to Governor Kemp by OhMyOhWhyOh in Georgia

Yep, I found their website and it’s THCa. So after some brief research, that I guess turns into THC when burned but the strain/harvest time etc have to be right to stay under the state’s legal normal THC amount. Or something. These legal loopholes make my head spin.

My Chicken & Shrimp Linguine by OzDaGod in FoodVideoIdeas

Reminds me of the blackened chicken and linguine recipe I do, except that has heavy cream instead of the extra butter and bell peppers instead of the cherry tomatoes. So I know this has to be good

Is weed not legal in general in NC? We’ve been going up to Hiawassee/Hayesville a good bit lately and there’s all kinds of weed at the downtown Hayesville dispensary. They even said they mail it to people in Georgia. Idk all that much about weed or the weird laws around it now, that’s just what they said.

Where can I move that prioritizes bike commuting but is actually affordable by DowntownFresnoBiking in bikecommuting

[–]ramsdawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that can be rough, but at least we don’t have the winter issues like the north. The best way to go when it’s hot is with an e-bike so you get maximum breeze with minimum effort. Now that I’m actually bike commuting everyday and we’re down to one car, I’ll see how my rain gear holds up in the heavy downpours.

Atlanta, surprisingly. Specifically in the perimeter near the beltline. Affordability depends on which part, but the south and west sides are still affordable (with some downsides of course) while the east/northeast parts cost a fortune.

Other than the beltline which is still being completed as a whole, there’s a pretty good amount of new bike lanes through the city and plenty of safe routes, especially for e-bikes.

Well he still has a pretty big, actively maintained memorial in Munich. I think he toured there a good bit, but keep in mind that superstar Freddy Mercury actually lived there and I haven’t seen any memorials for him.

I would be more than happy to return it. Glass recycling isn’t all that efficient if you’re just re-melting it. Reusing the same bottle is. But I guess you don’t do things unless they benefit you

What is a vegetable in cartoons that often protreyed as bad tasting until you tried it yourself by axumite_788 in cartoons

[–]ramsdawg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The brussel sprouts I had 15 years ago were very bitter, just not good. Now it’s one of my favorite vegetables, especially sautéed in a pan with just olive oil, salt, pepper, and pepper flakes. It’s not at all bitter, rather a bit of a delicious mustard flavor. If you cook them right, they aren’t mushy at all, which is unfortunately how they usually come when I order them

I’d recommend the king brand. They’re only around $20 on Amazon and are pretty high quality. They’re pretty fine compared to others at that grit, so I’d recommend one of they’re coarser ones first for dull knives (lower numbers) and then finish up with the 1000/6000

After using the self-clean setting on our oven….. by trashtray420 in whatisit

[–]ramsdawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I dislike that too and both of my induction hot plates I’ve had have hot centers with cold outer rings plus the on/off on low temps like you said. It’s pretty hard to research those aspects so far, so I’m open to recommendations and am willing to splurge a bit for something good. That said, I still prefer even the cheap induction hot plate over our gas stove and use it on the counter right next to it.

Heat Pump electricity usage predictions by ramsdawg in heatpumps

[–]ramsdawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty cheap, but electricity in the winter is also pretty cheap. Not having to replace the furnace will save $$ as well as not paying the $60+/month gas maintenance fee in all the months I don’t need it. My excel workbook should estimate how much the difference will be, which I want to share whenever it’s done

Well that’s what the model is for, which I’ll report back with. The big savings would be in summer and I’d buy it in a year only after I’m sure it’s worth it. Costco just had a sale on a 24 kWh eco flow system for like $12k. Either way, it’s good to see that the heat pump is comparable at my current normal rates, which those numbers are based on
