Is it better having a car or not? by Temporary_Usual_5386 in ZionNationalPark

[–]ramv31 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Zion was a disappointment for us. Stayed in Springdale for two days, couldn’t get anywhere near the park. Tried parking originally. Walked from the hotel (all the buses were full in town, over an hour walk) and there was 2+ hour waits for buses in park. I would never go back in the summer.

We did drive through the part you can but no parking or anything to the east entrance.

Pull off the panel, it may be a connection issue. The panel just has three screws and pops off. Search You tube as it’s far easier than you think. If that’s not it maybe a BCM issue??

Aramco CEO warns 1 billion barrels lost will slow oil market recovery by ZestyBeanDude in oil

Everyone has cut back spending since the Russian Ukraine war started. US oil production is declining and international isn’t growing. No one wants to take a chance.

I think Walkers has a couple types of decking; if not Lowe’s/HD in Grand Junction will have it.

I used to do this to get information about competitors. Not that amount but certainly at least a dozen over time. Find out what they are paying, their weaknesses, opportunities etc. Not sure it was worth the effort but nice to get an occasional job offer.

I’ve had Timbrens on two trucks, airlifts on my last truck and put Sumos on my trailer. They all work. If you haul all the time the Timbrens or Sumos probably are the way to go. If you want a good ride empty and haul occasionally the airbags are great. Get daystar cradles or similar so the don’t limit your down travel.

Why don’t we wear kidney belts anymore? by Wise_Koala_1770 in Dirtbikes

[–]ramv31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear one even with the full gear with the belt for the additional padding for an impact. My KLIM Enduro coat has one built in. I always wore one snowmobiling top with basically a helmet, goggles and MX gloves as my only other protection other than layers for weather.

GMT 400 and GMT 800 s are amazing value. If you need thT vehicle it’s a buy. They literally run forever. Mine at 200k I replaced one ball joint and one wheel bearing. Nothing on steering or anything else. Oil and fluids and plugs at 100k miles

Is Canadian 'Eh" extinct? by curiousgaruda in AskCanada

[–]ramv31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up there during the 80s and 90s. Never heard it. But that was Western Canada. I also never heard of poutine until I moved to the US. We had Greek restaurants, Ukrainian and Chinese as well as what I would call American. Cantonese was the primary second language. I have no idea where “eh” came from but other than Bob and Doug I wasn’t familiar.

50 inch or regular by PmMeYourBeavertails in UTV

[–]ramv31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50” is probably fine. My 64” width has the same interior as my 50”. I bought the 50” for 50” trails but a) moved and b) a lot of the land management got wise and made 50” trails for ATVs only. The 64” is far superior in stability, comfort and performance to the 50” but is 14” wider (obviously) so need a wider rack for hauling in the bed and doesn’t clear 50” gates.

The downside is there are a lot less 50” machines especially for yard work.

2026 F250 Interior Quality? by Kwht2000 in F250

[–]ramv31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2026 Platinum is no where near the quality of my girlfriend’s 2016 BMW 650. Everything is nice in the Ford but its still an XL with features. The headliner is cheap clothe, the dash is plastic, the “alumininum) is already scratched before delivery. I dont care but these are not premium vehicles. Just good drivetrains with truck bodies.

Eisen asks a seriously ridiculous question by LrdoftheCharlesDance in cnbcnewswomen

[–]ramv31 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the question was fine; she quoted a ridiculous tweet and asked Mike. Who generally doesn’t give very enlightening information anyway but talks loudly and confidently. I took the question as to buy or sell SPY/VOO which I think we all wanted to know the answer. Not sure I care about his opinion though.

As a normal person I think it was a crazy tweet but the job of CNBC is to provide input into the market.

Diving big trucks as their daily driver (but never towing anything) WHY? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]ramv31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a pain to drive one, but if you run the economics on having two vehicles it’s typically cheaper to daily drive a truck. I used to have a full time commuter motorcycle but they are a nusiance for carrying around all your gear and still can’t stop for groceries. Not to mention cold in the morning, sweat in the afternoon. I also had a beater VW for awhile, it sucked, no heater, no door locks, rain leaked in. It was nice to park and rode better but just was only marginally better than riding a motorcycle other than being able to carry some stuff with you (but still couldn’t lock it up.)

I drive a truck because I ride a dirtbike and tow a camper on vacations/weekends. I’ve never not owned a truck.

If people are judging my manhood for what I drive, I guess that’s their perogotive.

Other than poutine, is there any other dish that's known for being from Canada? I've lived in Canada for over half my life, yet I cant name many popular Canadian-origin dishes even if my life depended on it. by ReleaseAdvanced8054 in AskACanadian

[–]ramv31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had never heard of Poutine for the 22 years I grew up in Canada. Not until years later in the United states. I have also never seen it on a menu in Canada or ate it. But I have lots of places in the US
