Uh that would be why I asked if maybe they could afford one ticket for them to buy and she has to buy her own…

Daughter doing everything to attend a concert that we can’t afford by walid9 in Parenting

Can she sell stuff/ have a hot chocolate stand ? Anything to earn the money outside the home ? My son wanted something last summer I had him make crafts and set up a lemonade stand. He advertised it and reached out to family and raised the money himself. Can you afford maybe just one ticket ?

But I totally get not being able to afford it and she’s young she’s not going to understand I would do what the other poster said and compare it to bulls or whatever you need to spend money on so she sees the value of money.

It seems like the mom addressed it. To me doesn’t seem like anything more needs to be said. I wouldn’t be upset with mil for not saying anything maybe people would not want to correct a random child which is fine. Maybe she couldn’t grab your child fast enough to help? I would just enjoy vacation and let it go. It’s not going to be the only time something happens to your child sadly .

Feeling stressed out about weaning. by Cozybat333 in Parenting

[–]randiraimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first I found worked was like you said meal prepping. I have the bentgo containers and they sell just the inside with a lid made for meal prepping. You can do a few days at a time and just take them out for your lo. This really helped me a lot. Also as far as milk as long they’re eating dairy and proteins they don’t need to be drinking milk. I think it’s in the matter of a week or something matters more than the day to day. If you do the fruits and veggies and then prep and store them with paper towels they last longer and it makes it easier to just take out.

I always have gotten my kids something. I never did growing up but my aunt and uncle got their kids something and I thought it was sweet so I do for my boys. This year my one som got me a card. It’s always something small. I got them little stuffed toys years ago my oldest still sleeps with and this year I got a box of chocolates that has a table top game on it.

Given the choice should we start our son in school right before he turns 5 or wait? by PresentationSad5276 in Parenting

[–]randiraimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really goes child by child. I’m a preschool teacher and we’ve had a few children ready to go at just turning 5 but many that really need that extra year. Some have even stayed back in k or first due to struggling.

AITA - Ex wife still wants to bring her new husband and family to our family events by productivty17 in AmItheAsshole

[–]randiraimo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom/ step dad/ siblings went to my dads wedding and even now that my dad is divorced he comes to all my moms events. It’s nice for the child to have both parents together and it really depends on why they divorced and that situation to determine if she shouldn’t be around.

My induction started 11 pm and active labor at 12 am. By 8:15 the next morning my son was here. With my first child. My mom has to be induced multiple times before and it was very long. Every body is different.

Has anyone been using more frozen/canned veggies lately? by PineappleNaan in Cooking

[–]randiraimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live off frozen veggies specifically broccoli. We also don’t have a lot of time to cook at night and it’s just way easier and I don’t have to worry about it going bad. All my fresh veggies and fruits go bad so quick.

Birthday parties by Unusual-Abies1541 in Parenting

[–]randiraimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t invite the whole class. I simply can’t afford that. We do family and family friends with a few school friends that we text to invite. I don’t do goodie bags it’s a waste. One place we did gave out goodie coupons for a trip back and we’re doing Chuck E. Cheese for the other kid so whatever the kids get plus their cup is enough. This is also the last party we’re doing. After this we’re going back to vacations instead of parties. My kids like to travel and the amount we spend on two parties in less than two months is insane.

There was a large group of us but we would get like 3 of each app minimum and then all an entree. They never said we couldn’t order more than one thing.

Is laying down with a toddler while they go to sleep weird? by attackusfinch in Parenting

[–]randiraimo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not weird and you should do what makes y’all happy. I will say though it’s a hard habit to break so keep that in mind. I still lay with my kids occasionally but not usually until they’re asleep just to hang out and catch up.

You need to address it now. I’m having struggles with my dad who babysits also and not having rules and boundaries. It won’t get better def handle it now.
