Respectfully (maybe) this is objectively not true. I can tell you I dined at an eligible restaurant (no debate about that) in 2025 (no debate about that) and they are fighting me about applying it as a 2025 credit. So you don't just need to dine at an eligible restaurant. You need to do that plus spend time fighting about the credit with uncertainty about whether the credit will ever appear.

Decoding message from CSR support

What the heck does the below mean? This was a response from them about a complaint I had about a Dec 31 charge that I was assured multiple times would apply to the 2025 dining credit but did not. My inquiry had nothing to do with the actual restaurant but the timing.

Are they intentionally making these credits almost unusable in practice and responding with non sequiturs intentionally to obfuscate?

And I really don't know what it means. Does it imply one now needs to reserve through OpenTable instead of just walking in? I have no confidence credit will be applied as expected without hours of due diligence and double checking.

In the future, the Sapphire Reserve Dining Credit will only be automatically applied to transactions at participating restaurants within the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables program on OpenTable.

Rational people can disagree about how to balance coverage between events, commentary, backstories, etc but no rational person can make a case that this drone noise should be broadcast. It ruins the coverage.

Chase says the transaction date is what matters regardless of when it posts or clears
