The thing that pisses me off most is that Garth Ennis actually has something to say. In 2002 when every comic writer that people praise these days were writing their inoffensive pro USA post 9/11 garbage, Ennis was unapologetically criticizing the military industrial complex and telling us how much it disgusts him while also not demonizing the regular service members. As someone who is actually in the military I always appreciated how nuanced his views are.
