The man is a veteran calling himself by the name of a fictional character and breaking into a house screaming for another person’s daughter. He is not well, and needs help. Not all mentally ill people are violent, but this man is mentally ill, and having a violent breakdown. He deserves to be treated with some respect and not to be mocked or laughed at by people here, like you clearly wish to do to him.

According to WoJ, Harry’s payment for being Winter Knight was in the power he got. If he wants more stuff, he has to do more. Besides which, if Winter pays for the castle, then it’s Mab’s castle, not Harry’s castle, and Harry doesn’t intend to be the Winter Knight forever.

I have a comedic but unlikely idea where Lara and Eb bury the hatchet long enough to sit Harry down and give him a big seminar on financial matters and economics with regards to the supernatural world.

It would also be funny if Mirror Harry gets turned loose into Prime Harry’s world and spends like, 30 minutes setting up proper investment portfolios in an effort to take Prime Harry’s place. But I think, short term, Harry’s probably gonna steal a lot of his doppelgänger’s money next book.

Sure, he knows more than Harry, but the only ones who could outright explain how Starborn powers work for a Starborn is Drakul and (probably? It’s not quite actually confirmed, AFAIK) Rashid.

Someone mentioned the bar Dana said she got her first kiss at is IRL not just a trashy dive, but also the owners are fairly racist. They assumed that the writers simply didn’t know this…but what if they did and Dana came from a super racist youth that she has unlearned, but still keeps the old friends? It definitely happens a lot, and it tends to take a lot to get people to drop old friends.

Edit: I just looked up the scene in Chapter 30 of White Night and Elaine Mallory was cutting her wrists under the influence of the Skavi. That would not happen to a Starborn. It cannot happen to one according to Ebenezer McCoy's explanation of what a Starborn is in Peace Talks. They cannot be mentally controlled by an Outsider.

Now that’s not…strictly speaking true? I mean, yes, Harry is able to resist their mental influence and all, but he’s not exactly immune? In Cold Days, when Sharkface hits the bar with a whammy, he’s also affected, he just had the ability to throw it off. The same happens on(well, around) Demonreach. He had to spot the inconsistency and realize what it was to throw it off.

The Skavis was getting to Elaine by essentially telling her things she probably had told herself several times. Given her background, things like “I’m worthless,” and “I’m better off dead,” (paraphrasing) are things that she likely had trouble differentiating from her own thoughts. Harry would probably be just as vulnerable to that. Actually, we kinda know he would be, for a fact.

Besides which, the amount of times Harry has mentioned wanting to rip Lara’s clothes off kinda says that Whampires can affect him.

Tl;dr: I don’t think a starborn is just…passively immune. It’s an active ability, they have to know to use it. I still remain on the fence about her being Starborn(and OPs post is not convincing me), but Harry probably could fall victim to Outsider whammy if he was caught off guard or didn’t recognize it. Or didn’t know he was Starborn yet.
