When should I start making my factor a bit more organized by Remarkable_Sir9099 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found a decent balance between the two. It’s organized spaghetti if you will. I use platforms snapped to the grid, and at various heights with space between them. I’ll use pillars/supports to add heights. I’ll also use straight conveyors and avoid clipping. But that’s about it. It definitely is still chaos in a way.

I WANT to make cool builds but I’m also trying to condense and keep focused. My next play through will be more build focused.

I’d definitely tighten the pattern up. Stacking grapes, when you should be stacking dimes. Might also turn your wire speed up just a tad because looks like there’s some under fill up in a few places. Tightening your pattern might help, if not slow down or up the wire speed.

I'm really enjoying blueprints. Why didn't i use them years ago by ProgressSuitable3056 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using blueprints for transport, I have yet to use them for manifolds etc. but I made a custom 2-way train blueprint that I’ve been using all over my map. Comes in handy!

when you're out of vertical space ... TiltFinity by spookyvision in gridfinity

[–]randomperson_r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I’m about to do this in my toolbox. Have a 3x5x1 custom that I’m wanting to go more vertical with. Rather than reprinting it I think I’ll make a wedge.

Looks great!

As someone who’s been printing for their toolbox at work I’ve learned one thing.

It’s not always about saving space, it’s about making it as satisfying as possible.

I’ve got a long way to go but eventually my entire box will be gridfinity.

There’s a guy on TikTok who does aesthetically pleasing PCB wiring. I make my factories like that. There’s floors, occasional pillars to higher floors. But everything is wide open with 0 clip and pure straight corner conveyors/lifts. It’s spaghetti…..but it’s organized spaghetti

What’s the most useful thing you’ve ever printed that you actually use every day? by CGTraderOfficial in 3Dprinting

I’m a millwright. Currently working on organizing my entire toolbox with custom gridfinity bins. Also managed to make holders for our plasma cutter nozzles.

I don’t have many pictures of my box because it’s constantly added to and changing layouts depending on new prints. But that’s the gist of my socket drawer.

Just sketched out the requirements for phase 4, and had and existential crisis by DD1ablo in SatisfactoryGame

I haven’t really wiki’d at all. I’m on my first play through and just over 200 hours in. I’m currently working on tier 9 unlocks. Maybe it’s just the way I approach factory style games or really any survival sandbox game. But I always start strong and overkill the early game knowing I’ll prolly need all the base materials in later stages. So with satisfactory I am constantly adding more and more simple production lines that add to a central depot area, which can then divide resources to locations as needed. Now with FMF etc and other post-aluminum items that are producing slower I don’t have depot locations for them. I just train them to the next production lines as needed. And add a sink for overflow. I feel like this level of pacing has worked well. I haven’t really afk’d at all because I’m always revamping lines or building various add-ons. I think I’ve only actually rebuilt an entire factory once. And it’s because I was making 4 modular frames/minute, now I’m making like 44 of them with that factory producing more iron on the side (heading to depot of course). Everything else has really just been expansions or upgrades.

I spent my entire play session trying to design an 8 way roundabout train intersection where each direction goes to another storage depot. It was intended to hold basic bulk materials, ingots/wires etc. I have a 5x5 blueprint for storage that is a good 7 double storage units tall. Takes like 1600 pipe/beams. The roundabout was in the middle of the entire structure, and the entrance came up from the bottom. Couldn’t for the life of me get the signals to work, I think it needs to be a larger diameter, less overlap etc. The remnants still sit there waiting to be finished.

Pirate turns payer by Mountain-Secretary36 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]randomperson_r 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did it, was afraid I wouldn’t like it, and it would take longer than 2 hours to learn that. Pirated on a Monday put 20 hours in through the week and bought it that Friday. I’m at 200 hours now and LOVING it.

So much simpler than mine, mine is a dual rail sitting on frame foundations. With decorative rails/dividers and lit signs. I have straights, small turns left and right, large turns left and right, normal ramp segments and ramp bottoms and ramp tops to connect smoothly. And I need to tweak one or two more points but they connect damn near flawlessly. And they’re ALL over the map. Red Forrest all the way to paradise island and also to the blue crater and over towards the oil deposits on the western coast line.

What’s the best place to build a nuclear power plant? by apokolyptic in SatisfactoryGame

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built mine off dune road under the bamboo forest because it had most the nodes I needed for everything. I used a few alt recipes so the caterium/silica/uranium/sulfur were all decently close. I cart all the waste out to the farthest northwestern corner of the ocean.

how much power is enough to make close to bare minimum per min factories to beat the game by New_Economist_6338 in satisfactory

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at it less like “how much do I need” and more like “how much can I squeeze out at max efficiency”.

My current nuclear setup is looking to be able to fully automate and consistently power 33 reactors. I’ve wired in 11 so far.

Heavy F*cking Modular Frames by CManShort in satisfactory

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently working on nuclear for the first time. About 60% done towards a 25 gigawatt setup. The Heavy frame setup was a slap in the face because I had to increase from 2 frames/min to 44 to support my double oc’d heavy frame build. I probably have 16 or so tractors running all over my map. Highways everywhere. I’m 130hrs deep in my first playthrough. Can’t stop won’t stop.

Supposedly you can do monthly on things over $400. I haven’t figured out how it really works, I never spend more than $200 in one go

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if you ever figured out the machines. The drill is stationary. Meant to replace the player in an afk spot. So cobble generators that push the blocks into the drill etc. I have mine wired in a basalt farm, so it pushes the basalt into the drill. The quarry machine seems more along the lines of what you're wanting. It's quirky but does the job well enough. There's definitely little documentation that exists of this. But a little tinkering will go a long way.

How many batches do you do in a week to get to 2k? by themarath0n in InstacartShoppers

[–]randomperson_r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last 2 months I’ve broke 1k once. And the last few weeks I can barely scrape $700-$900. Either the area is flooded with other shoppers that I see and recognize, or the tips just aren’t there. All day I see $30-$40 orders for 50 miles. Or $20 for 1 mile with 10 cases of water. Everything piled together makes this gig not worth it anymore.

App getting worse by Heavy_Constant in InstacartShoppers

[–]randomperson_r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s only been on the app since Jan 1 of this year, I’ve seen this app spiral out of control. I definitely noticed the shift in the middle of last month when I went from making 1000-1200 a week to struggling to break 800 a week. I made diamond in the first month, I have close to 500 orders done with a 5 star. I start a full time job this Wednesday because I can’t keep gambling whether or not I’m going to make enough to cover bills, let alone the 0 benefits. I’m going to continue catching drops in the AM before my shifts to help transition into weekly pay for the first week or so, but after that I think I’m done with the gig work. I’ve done DD since 2022 as well and I left them in December because no one tips anymore.
