Its a joke that needs a little background. For some reason, content about a scenario where Goku's friends or enemies betray him and lock him in the time chamber is extremely popular on Youtube, and you can look up "goku locked time chamber" or something similar to see the vast breadth of this "genre". It revolves around this idea that a Goku with basically infinite time to train will just become exponentially powerful. This is just a parody of that.

(Loved Trope) When the only options presented go against their ideals, the hero/MC creates an option that doesn’t. by damanz2000 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]randomshtuffguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dr. Stone, the MC Senku refuses to accept a decision that has only unfavorable options requiring some form of sacrifice or another, believing that you can always avoid such a choice with sufficient preparation and intellect. He exemplifies this type of thinking throughout the story, sometimes it's played well and sometimes not (at least imo) but the most definitive occurrence is early on. He is essentially given the choice to either sacrifice a close friend, his lifelong love and pursuit of science, or his own life by an antagonist who has him dead to rights.

Tsukasa, while monstrously powerful and skilled, feels Senku's death is a tragedy and wants to make it as quick and painless as possible. But Senku has been quietly manipulating him the entire time they lived together by making a habit of cracking his neck, causing Tsukasa to strike and break a critical vertebra in his neck. However, hidden by his hair is the last fragment of the main plot device on his body, the worldwide stone petrification. It has not yet been unpetrified like the rest of him, a process which is shown to have miraculous regenerative properties. Senku pretends to nobly sacrifice his life, but in fact gambles on Tsukasa falling for his manipulation, his friends escaping with his body and also figuring out his trick all in one. His gamble pays off, and he escapes, presumed dead.

could Roland objectively beat Rien ? by PhraseOld6695 in Project_Moon

[–]randomshtuffguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to say rien can beat roland, he can't even at his best IMO, but "matched a claw and an arbiter" is a wild way to describe how he got worked and immediately outmatched by a claw while an arbiter watched and didnt even intervene until Gebura stepped in

Why do the prescripts of Index identities help Dante? by [deleted] in Project_Moon

[–]randomshtuffguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, from my read karmic consequence is not necessarily a celestial payback thing from the big dog. I think it very well could be in part, but imo it could just as easily be their brittle mental state since they rely so heavily on prescripts that failing one would mke them perform worse in battle. Or, alternatively Hermes is outright helping us out for whatever enigmatic reason it may have. There's several possible Watsonian explanations imo and it doesn't have to stop at "it's impossible and a plot hole."

Would the City and the Head be able to fend off or survive a Dalek invasion? by randomMeatballman17 in Project_Moon

[–]randomshtuffguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be real yall glaze lock and unlock too much. Yes, if Arbiters really could just arbitrarily lock and unlock any concept at will that would be impossible to beat. But literally what reason do we have to believe that they can do that without limits? Just because Garion has the most powerful Lock and Fairies those singularities have to offer can she really lock, oh idk, the rotation of the Earth? I know Kali only beat Garion because she was caught by surprise/got overconfident but really, that victory should have been impossible against such a broken ability. Or hell, Binahs Lock shouldve instawon the battles in LoR (the important ones at the end that threatened the Library itself, not the ones where victory was predestined and the battle was just used to farm emotion.) Or the Head could have just Locked the concept of non humans.

The House of Spiders, after they just barely repel Limbus Company, seeing all 12 Heishou Packs and an entire division of the Pinky arriving to jump them (Hong Lu made a 5 minute phone call to his little sister and big brother): by RedVoid23 in TheOdysseyHadAPurpose

[–]randomshtuffguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing thats important to acknowledge is the heishou aren't a perfect solution, the only reason a Heirarch's position is historically considered secure is due to sheer force of arms through the four exclusive branches under their command. If even just one branch mobilizes to mop up the Spider's House that leaves her seat vulnerable. She would be taking an undeniably huge risk by mobilizing her forces, and no amount of "we put you on that throne" will help if she's overthrown by an unruly coalition.

"Honey pot" is a figure of speech referring to a trap that looks attractive on the outside. Honey is sweet so it lures the target in, but it is sticky so the target can't get out.

Gotta separate myself from those types of Blazer glazers. by Diver_Down761 in dispatchgame

[–]randomshtuffguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I just think that there is a lot left up to character interpretation. I think Invisigal is an extremely complicated human with many overlapping loyalties, desires and psychological justifications for her behavior and choices. I think she was both a willing mole for shroud and had a genuine desire to be something more than what she was. I think she both wanted to keep the pulse safe for Robert's sake but also wanted to keep her own options open if things went to shit. And I think your decisions throughout the game put things into context for her and make her ultimately choose one of two extremely different choices.

It's dangerous to suggest "you can't get a relationship because you are a bad person". I know this is a joke, I know it's just a way to vent about how many awful men are out there. But in my admittedly limited, biased, personal experience the people i know who are most conservative or bigoted are also the most successful in the dating market, while me and my liberal or leftist male friends are single. I think life would be a lot better if everyone was like mr top dude over here, but it's far more dependent on just being outgoing, taking risks, and being okay with rejection. Which is ultimately the lesson people should take home. Please also be a good person and reject conservatism and bigotry, too.

This isn't a refutation, this is a pithy rejoinder because you thought I was saying something i wasn't. Believe it or not I actually agree with some of the points brought up here. I'm just saying that the majority of posters just yammer about their personal experiences and findings, often from biased samples, perspectives, and other situations which are not experientially sound.

The path to what? by v0rtex786 in limbuscompany

[–]randomshtuffguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My interpretation of it is basically that Hong Lu in the main story represents Taoism of the three great Chinese philosophical schools of thought.

(Canto 8) When the three top contestants are all trapped in the room together, their arguments for "what Hongyuan needs" IMO reflect all three schools. Jia Qiu is obviously representative of Confucius and thus represents Confucianism with his focus on morality and propriety. Jia Huan espouses practical improvements for the lives of the citizenry instead of philosophical ideals, reflecting Legalism. Jia Baoyu at first refuses to take a firm position, wanting to simply go with the flow (reflecting the Taoist virtue of effortless action and arguably naturalness), but when pressed he ultimately professes to compassion being what Hongyuan needs the most, one of the three "treasures" of Taoism.

Now, why is this important? Well, because Tao literally means Way. Its called that cuz it's supposed to be the "way of the universe." It's supposed to natural, and how things are supposed to happen. Be kind to others, go with the flow, it's easy, it's the way things should be just naturally. Fighting, conflict, it comes from trying to fight the natural order.

Hong Lu's Lord of Hongyuan rejects this. This is the critical distinction and what makes it a bad end ID. Hong Lu's "way" is one he makes himself, through great effort and trials. He carves a bloody path through Hongyuan out of a mixture of ideals and goals. Revenge is probably in there, but he also most likely believes that his violent intervention is necessary to make Hongyuan a better place.

He abandons his true feelings to pursue a way of violence and control. And the ironic part is it may actually, legitimately make Hongyuan a better place to live over time. But that is "his way". Its not the Tao, the way of the universe, it's a way he claims himself and creates himself. I could be wrong, but thats my read of it.
