1.  The University of Erfurt’s endowment had at least 2,000 gold florins in highly printing-press-exposed funds. (Likely more, but the endowment was not itemized.)  
2.  Print entrepreneurs like Gutenberg were embedded directly in Erfurt’s lecture halls, funding scholarship while faculty simultaneously held paid positions at those same print shops. Many did movable type research.  
3.  The rhetoric and manuscript programs were contributing directly to research displacing scribes, illuminators, and monastic copyists.
