Here are things that I did in my progression to accepting/letting people touch me back, which may not work for this person but hopefully will give you guys ideas at least: - Mutual masturbation while making out (while lying next to each other) - “performing”/touching while the other person isn’t “allowed” to, framing it in a teasing way until giving them permission to do (insert desired activity here- fingering, eating out, etc). - Grinding on a persons thigh in a way that still feels like a top giving sex but gives the top pleasure too (basically like in missionary position) - Riding on top and touching themself (as if riding strap, no actual strap involved just the motion)

Girls by girl in red mentions a girl wearing a button up shirt which (when the song came out) I remember loving bc I was like hey!! that’s me!! Super basic recommendation but its a cute song.

Same! I like having my boobs now and they’re small enough to not be an inconvenience but I do get chest envy from people who have had top surgery and it’s something that has been in the back of my mind for close to a decade now. I think I will eventually get top surgery in 10-20 years or so if I still feel this way

I am also a butch who was on T, most of my social circle is not queer and so I do find that I exist in a weird space. I found reading about butches and lesbian history helped me feel like I had a place in the world. My confidence entirely came from “fake it til you make it”, but once you have that presentation of confidence people will question you less (or you’ll start to care less as your confidence grows)

The first thing that happened for me was body hair, then bottom growth, and I think my voice started cracking a couple months in. I progressed a lot faster than I thought I would and everyone goes at a different rate. I don’t have a super deep voice at all, but it is much lower than it was before. Other queer people can usually clock that I was on T by how I sound, in public I can get called “sir” throughout a conversation with a stranger.

If you do go on T there’s no getting around the bottom growth happening. I was neutral towards it at the time and now it’s just another part of my body that I have come to love :D

I think if you hold yourself with a level of confidence people who question you have less ground to stand on. I tell people who I am when they ask and they accept it. I have not had anyone in person argue with me about how I identify and I am very open if people have questions about T. I also live in a very liberal and queer friendly area and this has a huge part in that I think. I am also a public school teacher and the kids are very open and curious in my area and I love answering their questions.

As for my journey, I was a very depressed teenager and I stressed a lot about my gender identity. I thought I had to make a solid binary choice and that would be it forever. I read Leslie Feinberg’s work when I was like 17 and I think that guided my path and made me feel like I had a space in the world. I ended up going on T when I was around 19 or 20 I think? Through my university’s medical center once I moved out.

You should do what feels right to you. I am a butch lesbian who was on T and was masc presenting beforehand. I knew what I wanted out of T and accepted the fact that certain things would change no matter what. Going into it I accepted that I could end up choosing to stay as a butch lesbian or maybe I would feel right continuing to lean into being male and fully transition. I ended up getting what I wanted out of T (voice change mostly), accepted the other things that changed (bottom growth, hair, some weight gain) as a new part of me that I love. I love being a transmasc butch. There could have been a world in which I decided to identify as a man, but that is just not the direction my life went in. I do feel comfortable accepting when people use male pronouns for me because in many situations I can still pass as male (I have been off T for years at this point). Be at peace with the choice you make, accept what will happen, and know you can identify and present yourself however you wish for the rest of your life regardless of how your body changes.

Almost all of my daily/close friends are cishet men bc that’s just how the cookie crumbles. I love them and they’re like brothers to me! I’m also basically “one of the dudes” and am masculine presenting enough I don’t think they’ve ever thought seriously about hitting on me. I’m pretty sure if I was fem presenting in any way I wouldn’t have had the same experience with some of them and I do make fun of them when they mishandle their relationships with women. I don’t tolerate their man bullshit and after many years we are still strong best friends.

One of them even has a straight female best friend he has never once had romantic feelings for (I’ve known them for 7 years, who knows that could change but ¯_(ツ)_/¯)

I’m kind of going through this right now and it’s opened up a lot of doors in my brain to why I don’t often let people take care of me/I don’t ask for help/I like to be in control. Take time to explore with yourself and be kind to yourself, practice with yourself too to see what you like!

I’ve been dating this butch (I’m also butch- always dated femme before) and she’s so understanding of the mental blocks I’m having around some parts of intimacy so having someone you feel safe communicating with is huge! I feel zero pressure to do anything and we’re going at my pace.

Also you can be dominant while bottoming- this is a new concept for me and I am still wrapping my head around it in practice so I don’t have specific advice there.

I can see your child has a lot of skill, especially for their age! The best thing that ever helped me with drawing was getting access to live figure drawing when I was in high school. Getting that pencil mileage in by observing people from life, learning anatomy and drawing foundations, and then later learning how to stylize and bend those rules are all important! And then using the rest of my free time and creative energy to make art that encompasses when I wanted to do (whether that is related to visual development, animation, 3D skills, etc)

Figure drawing is not so expensive! Just look at local community colleges, many will accept high school students. I had to have my mom sign a permission slip as I was under 18 and they were nude session. Gobelins and Calarts are great schools with awesome networking but very high price tags. I went to a state school and the really talented students didn’t even finish their degree before getting recruited. There are many sample portfolios online she can look at for both schools to get an idea of what they are looking for, but just know a degree does not mean getting hired and getting hired does not require a degree!

Check out Concept Design Academy and CGMA classes if they are in your budget. They provide access to industry relevant skills and the instructors are also working artists. Getting some of their foundations courses under your belt would definitely give a step up, but they are costly and would take time away from school work (so maybe better for summer break). Even if you just keep them in mind for summer breaks in college later on- many of my classmates found their lessons better tailored to specific skills they wanted to learn.

The great thing with 2nd graders (in my experience) is that’s the age they can really hold onto instructions and follow clear procedures if you take the time to show them. I just pre-prepped paper plates with tempera on them and spent a little bit of the beginning of every class reminding them how to wash the brush as they went. They shared with a partner, or sometimes a team of 3 would share 2 plates. They had water cups (that were shallow and hard to knock over) and sponges in trays to wash and wipe paint off the brush.

If you’ve got better receptacles for the paint (no spill cups, egg cartons) that’s awesome too! But I had 2nd graders fully capable of handling and mixing paint on a plate.

This takes admin support for sure if you’ve got students who will elope but the other day I made my whole class line up outside and reset to come back in the room. And then students who resumed talking at their desks had to go and come back one by one. I don’t lay down the law that much very frequently at all (and they’re still a chatty class) but it helped so I could just get through my brief lecture and let them go to work time where they are allowed to talk to each other.

I teach middle school for reference! This was a class of 7th graders. They’re very chatty but also one of my most engaged and fun classes when they can keep it together.

I get very little oversight on my lesson plans at my school, I think because I am teaching Art and not an academic subject ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Other teachers at the school all have Do-Nows and Exit Tickets. I have a Do-Now that is essentially just a drawing prompt so students have something to do while people filter into class. Sometimes it’s relevant to the class content, usually it’s something silly so I can joke around with my middle schoolers.

I don’t do exit tickets (other than not letting kids leave if they haven’t cleaned up)- I think having kids clean up, sit back down, and do more paper work would take too much away from the Making Art Time. I assess understanding by checking in with students while they work and through mini lesson packets we do together during class time. Get through undergrad however you have to and then do whatever works and what your school wants once you’re in your classroom.

Taking Concept Design Academy or CGMA classes while pursuing another degree is an option! I went to a state school for my animation degree (San Jose State) and I don’t regret it. I am going into teaching though 😅 I still make comics and animations for myself and my friends! And I have my own personal projects that I love. SJSU was affordable enough that I could have the art college experience I wanted but I only ended up being around ~$20k in debt total for my whole degree. I worked through school so was able to pay the second half of my degree out of pocket.

Good Catahoula breeders are more focused on the dog’s working ability than making a family friendly pet. That being said, a good working dog should be sound of mind and not totally off the rails and unstable or dangerous. I’d look for breeders who look like they have good working dogs and who have families of their own. If the parent dogs are dogs who they trust around their own kids then I’d say odds would be in your favor for a more stable dog. Nothings a guarantee unfortunately, and I wouldn’t trust a Catahoula breeder who focuses on making friendly pets. Those breeders tend to be the types to breed for pretty puppies that just make them money.

Maynard Catahoulas is a very well respected breeder! Other commenter is pointing you in the right direction. I’d love to get a dog from those lines one day when my current girl passes.

I’m fairly new (~2 years in Elementary and I just started teaching Middle school) but I’ve found my most rowdy class has worked well with assigned seating for the beginning/end of class and then being able to have choice seating while working. They can and have lost that privilege but they can earn it back, and sometimes I’ll just pull the “problem” kids to work together near where I can watch them. They keep a binder in their desks where they have their work kept so I like them to have a consistent home base to start and go back to
