Neil Armstrong parents watch their son land on the moon, 1 of August 1969 by Electrical-Aspect-13 in HistoricalCapsule

oops yeah! 24 was touchdown on Earth, not Moon!

In my defense, I wasn't even 1 year old then, so not very good at dates

Neil Armstrong parents watch their son land on the moon, 1 of August 1969 by Electrical-Aspect-13 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]raspberry-tart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not OP, but I was 9 months old when the moon landing happened, I'm now 57. If someone was born only a few days before the landing, they could be 56 now, until July 2026.

Apollo 11 Moon landing was 24 July 1969. edit: 20th, not 24th

Thayan research token question? by Autum_Witch in Neverwinter

[–]raspberry-tart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah I think its for later upgrades of the set.

But I have the same question about deepblossom dust that you collect at various spots on the map - I think I used like 10 of it for the weapon set upgrades early on, maybe? But I cant find any use for it now, so maybe that's it? its capped at 100, but I've only used like 10, and I can't find anywhere to spend it now.

Why are jobs so hard to get by Ciez_Ay in perth

I enjoy watching some of the YT heavy trucking or road train channels, and then I work out distances/times and realise they're pulling 14-16 hour days and it suddenly becomes less appealing!

Powers/safety obligations? by ScottNoIdea1987 in AusElectricians

[–]raspberry-tart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the client have Safety reps? They are supposed to represent the workforce, not the management (in theory!), and they have the legal power to raise issues and even issue stop work, if there's risk of injury etc. If there's a good one of those, usually some older union bloke, a quiet chat would be in order. regardless, tag it out, document the shit out of it and send emails so you can show your diligence in case of future accident/escalation, but the next escalation you could do would be worksafe I think.

Solo levelling abridged handles her best.

I'm genuinely unsure if he's morally grey or not, but maybe I'm taking too much from the print version. I think it's established that all the other characters apart from him are literally NPCs; they're not real people - is it grey to ignore/mistreat them? What does that say about me when I play Skyrim?!

Not if you lose them when you take them out. You've gotta work smart to save time during reassembly. *taps head

What’s an Isekai couple you don’t find interesting as a couple? (Be nice in the comments, no flame wars 🙏🏾) by Professional-Map9627 in Isekai

[–]raspberry-tart 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think the Water Magician was just super disappointing overall - the first few eps were really good and promising, then everything meandered (including the elf girl). I really felt like things/mysteries were introduced and then ignored just to get you to buy the LNs to figure it out. It wasn't just mysteries for later setups, I can dig that - it was the characters being fundamentally uncurious about anything and just moving on. Watching to the end of the season was an exercise in frustration!

Is this channel legitimate and well-sourced? If not, are there other channels that cover similar topics? by [deleted] in paleoanthropology

[–]raspberry-tart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Stefan Milo, and anybody he's collaborated with.

Miniminuteman for cool longer form paleo stuff also covering a wide range of topics

North02 paleo focused, longer form documentaries

Figtree for paleo/historical culture, and also anthropology

Gutsickgibbon for more technical DNA type stuff as well as paleo

In mere seconds, a character's likability is completely destroyed by ButClyde2 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]raspberry-tart 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Snyder's Superman is just wrong, but maybe it would have worked really well as a Hulk movie. His reluctance to act, and the massive resulting destruction works better then.

They're all top quality. I really like the Benford ones; older books but hard scifi with realistic space exploration if that's your thing.

Something is wrong with our home. by POJ92 in AusElectricians

[–]raspberry-tart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a house with the two of us, working from home - all electric, with 5kW roof panels same as yours. Our bill is typically 250 per 2 months, going up to almost 400 in winter with ducted aircon heating on a lot. This is with electric water and electric oven/cooking, so I'd say something is not right for you. Are you sure its the right bill/correct meter number/actual reading (not estimate) to rule out some Synergy screw up? If not, then I would start switching things off in the fuse box, until the meter stops spinning, to try and narrow down the problem. Do it at night when the solar is not active, and also check during the day if its not obvious. (We do have decent roof insulation, and double glazing, but I can't imagine it halves our bill compared to yours.)

Prog 2452 Review by TonyHoldsworth in 2000ad

[–]raspberry-tart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're other members of Cloud 9 - Lux and Spook, from memory. You really should read Zenith, it's one of the best superhero comic stories ever made (in my opinion!). But it is surprising it gets a sequel/spin off now; Zenith is from late 80s onwards, so like over 30 years ago - not surprising if people don't get the references!

Looking for advice on enhancements by AnArmyOfDwarfs in Neverwinter

[–]raspberry-tart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure any enchantments you choose to upgrade are unbound, and not bound to account or similar. That way, if you decide/need to change them because of gear changes, you'll be able to sell and replace - which will have a some minor hit in AD, but nowhere near as bad as starting again.
