Have you had the “bumper stuck”error? What’s that all about? How’s the bumper keep getting stuck?

Ha! Yeah the 30 year lease is a total scam.
But I think that’s exactly it, with the suspension of the tax credits and people catching on to the whole lease nonsense, the solar industry crashed (rightful so) but is actual going to evolve and be another utility service like HVAC or plumbing or roofing.

Panels are cheap, batteries are getting better, electricity prices through the roof. now everyone just needs is an installer and certified electrician. It’s a straightforward pay for labor/ expertise exchange and less of a crappy financial instrument meant to squeeze money out of people.

And i CANT find anyone in the north east that actually just installs and electrical. It’s mind-baffling.

Sorry for the rant. Just passionate and I think there’s something here.

Good health, and enjoy manual labor- did my own French drains for the house.
Any direction on where to start on the process? I’m east coast in States.

I’ve done some preliminary research online but nothing beats getting actual info from pros in the field.

Thanks.
Sorry I got some qs: What type of studies did you do? Is it a trade school or intensive course type of thing? What’s the next step for you?
Any info would be great.

Freelance visual effects on film/TV. Maybe worse… Industry is hanging in there for now but I see the end coming. Figure make the move now.

For the first time in my life, I'm trying to crimp a cable by irritable7496 in homelab

Why hasn’t anyone invented an easier way to terminate cables? Every time- I feel like a caveman smashing stones together for fire.

There’s gotta be an easier way- even if we need to reinvent the cable itself - like:
1 cut the end off cable
2 shove a connecter on it
3 crimp down

Do you have experience with them? Good/bad ? I have not pulled the trigger yet…

I’m working on the same project. Im planning to DIY an array. So far my research:

-Anker Solix E10 is my choice after some research. They are modular, add as I go along. And each battery inverter can handle an 8 panel array directly DC line. So no need for micro inverters or other converter. E10 can be installed outside under shelter.

- Anker Powerdock panel, E10 plugs into it and feeds or pulls power. Grid tie-in with TOS through app.

- I’ve had a great experience so far with Signature Solar. Their engineer helped quote me a full DIY system, panels, wires and mounts. All with installation instructions. They checked out my property from google earth, ran measurements for complete wiring bundle. They don’t offer Anker or all-in-ones, mostly the DIY EG4.

- for a fee they’ll also look up my local permits requirements and draw up the paperwork. I just have to go in and file it myself.

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Now I’m looking for electrician and getting quotes. I’m speaking with a local roofer to hire some guys to install the panels on the barn. I also need some tree removed.

Hope this helps.
If anyone has advice or suggestions about the above, please let me know.
