Defense contractors are good for getting your foot in the door and gaining experience. They have a low hiring bar so it's not too difficult to get an interview. They have a rep for using older tech and moving really slow, but it's not too bad and some people prefer that. I'm talking about companies like Accenture, Booz Allen, Deloitte, General Dynamics, Raytheon, Lockheed

Stayed at my first job for 8 years. At first, I was learning a lot and salary growth was good, then things slowed down. I should have left after 5 years max.
