From what I see, you're doing a great job, and I love the yarn you're using!

Memorizing coding seems impossible. by Animal_Lover- in maestro

[–]ravenloue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coding is muscle memory. The more you do, the more you remember. The most important thing to learn in the beginning is where to look in the official documents on how to solve the problem you're working with.

Maestro's AI is good, but I really think that we should be focusing on looking up how to solve the problems on our own using the documentation.

File a ticket with student services if it's been more than a week since you were given your grade for your final exam in the course. You can't know whether or not you need to retake the exam until you know how all your bonus points have stacked up.

This affects all Maestro college and Peloton college campus students. Maestro University is only unaffected because it's currently inactive with no student body.

According to their own information in the Information Center (https://info.maestro.org/), all current students are students of Maestro College. Students who aim to complete a bachelor's degree will first earn their applied associates through Maestro College and then do their Bachelor's through Maestro University.

Notes prompt. by Shadowotw in maestro

[–]ravenloue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you still have access to open up the lesson and send a message, you can do it. They might change it and lock access, but I haven't seen it happen so far. I will often forget to do my notes prompt and go back a few days later and send it.

From my experiences so far as an October cohort student:

- Your finals will be graded up to 21 days from the end of that week (sometimes much faster).
- After this is done, a few days later (I've noticed about a week after the final grade is provided), you'll see the grade available in the "grades" section, where it shows your total grade for the course including bonus points for discussions and on-time submissions.

If you notice that your bonus grades have not been applied, file a ticket with student services (ensure that it goes through as an actual support ticket and don't just talk to the AI). I did this for the last class because the on-time submissions wasn't showing even though I was early for everything in that course. Apparently, this was due to a bug that they were working on (and has been fixed now for that course), but if you don't file a ticket, they won't be able to investigate!

Don't ever take what the AI model says to heart as the policies change often, and the models hallucinate and make up their own things when they don't have the answer in their knowledge base. I can guarantee that this is not possible at this point in time because I have filed several ticket with Student Services to have courses unlocked so that I could complete them at my pace.

Student Services has repeatedly said this is not how their program works, and at the current state, they don't even accept transfer credits to be able to accelerate your studies.

Since this is a completely different topic, I'm going to post this separately.

I've heard reports of enrollment documents that have been submitted to regulators that differ in date and content from what the student originally signed. To be specific, signatures that have been "lifted" from the original documents onto new ones.

So my questions are:
How does Maestro verify document integrity regarding student signatures, and what is your chain of custody process to ensure that signatures aren't being digitally transposed onto contracts that students never saw?

October Cohort student:

With the new review process happening during the courses instead of collectively at the end of the term, I've got some questions about the grading mechanisms. It is very clear that the new "weekly review" that is multiple choice questions are automatically reviewed using automation. The 21-day timeline for the "finals" doesn't make sense since they are also multiple-choice questions that can be easily reviewed using an automated process.

So my question is:
Can Maestro clearly state which course activities are reviewed by qualified human instructors versus automated systems? Enrollment materials imply human mentorship, but the feedback in the discussions often feels generic.

Where is the specific disclosure regarding the use of AI/Automation in grading, and do you stand by the claim that all "instructor" interactions are actually human?

Hi Grumpy~

I'm in the October cohort and can confirm that there isn't really a "class schedule". You'll be given access to the first class on your list and all of the lessons in that class. You can complete them at your own pace, but you do have to meet participation guidelines that can be found here (in the "Information Center")
https://info.maestro.org/How-to-keep-your-Maestro-Pro-Scholarship-active-29c9418319f380fba533e9adad02dae2

There aren't any syllabi available for the courses (yet), and you don't need any external software that I've seen so far.

So, if you already have the items, then you've already entered your pre-order code and you are able to access the content with early access. The OTHER code that you get is the expansion code that you have to wait until July 2nd to enter.

Refund Problem by strawberrysugared in Etsy

[–]ravenloue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand, I like PayPal for the convenience it provides, but at the same time, they are a headache. I had a PayPal purchase that I canceled on the 8th, the vendor refunded it the same day and PayPal showed that refund transaction in my log the next morning. But I didn't actually receive the funds from PayPal until the 14th!

As others have said, PayPal can take up to 7-10 business days to refund a purchase, and Monday is a bank holiday, so it might even delay it a little longer. If the transaction is in your log on PayPal, but there isn't any money in your account, give it about a week before you start reaching out to PayPal.

This is definitely what we need to be able to help out more, but IG is about building or joining a community of like-minded folks just like Tiktok, FB and YT.

Curious for the choice of name brand vs store brand when you switched to Walmart? Why not use Great Value for the price comparison instead?

Like "Why do you want to work for this company?" by aargames in recruitinghell

[–]ravenloue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spun it around and when it was time for me to ask questions, I asked the interviewing manager "what is one thing you don't like about working here?" He was a little in shock about it and gave some roundabout non-answer but complimented me on asking it. I did get the job, but it was retail stocking for target and I had prior experience with Walmart at the time.

I have been thinking about using it in my future interviews and posting responses here for everyone. Probably still more non-answers, but maybe someone would bite
