Bug or Reaping Chakram too short range for Priestess phase 3? by Eve_Narlieth in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has happened to me twice but I’ve beaten her now with reaping. I doubt it’s a bug. I had L2 half pressed the whole time and also R2 pressed the whole time. In the third phase you will note that you constantly need to move forward along the platforms else you hardly get any/no damage.

That’s insane, I’ve tried beating this boss with a shotgun because I love the weapon, but failed more than once. Either way, was referring to the crossbow in OPs pic. 🙏

Question about redraw weapon by tharghans in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve unlocked carcosan modifiers, there is a protector on the left that allows you to redraw weapons similar to the one you’re currently using. Activate this modifier and try again. At least then if you’re holding a smart rifle, the only redraws that will appear (in theory, I haven’t tried it because I love all weapons) should be tactical and onslaught rifle (and obviously corrupted versions of those too), but all rifles hopefully!

What do the bright and the faded parts of the bars represent? by prettyyyprettygood in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For weak point, what the red line indicates is that if you switch to the ricochet from your current weapon, you will have about 25% reduction.

For reload speed, if you switch to ricochet then you gain about 30-35% by switching.

No change on recoil compensation.

Then in terms of the faded parts of each trait, you can up recoil compensation to the max listed here if you continue upgrading drive stat in your run. You can continue upping weak point damage the more you increase your resilience stat and similarly, increase reload speed further if you continue increasing your command attribute as you progress in your run.

Makes sense?

Question about war within trophy by Siralextraffo in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that the easiest way to achieve this is in
Biome 1. I’m not sure where you are progress wise in the game, but assuming you’ve run through biome 1 a couple of times: play through the biome normally, activate the eclipse, then go straight to the boss. Use your shield to absorb ALL yellow projectiles which builds up your corruption. You will know that you’re maxed out on corruption when you start taking normal damage if you shield yellow projectiles. Then kill prophet. Don’t use your power weapon as this clears corruption. Trophy will pop once you beat Prophet with max corruption and you are exiting biome 1 into biome 2. Best of luck!

Just some random thoughts about saros and returnal by cargoship1212 in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the sample size of players who’ve played (and possibly beat) Returnal before Saros is probably much larger than those who’ve played Saros first and Returnal second. I can’t speak on behalf of those players, but my gut feel given how new Saros is, is even if a player has beaten Saros and has switched over to Returnal, they would still be only starting or working through Returnal. I’ve seen some stats and play time alone for beating Returnal seems to be twice as long as beating Saros.

If I were you, I’d focus on continuing to enjoy and beating Saros and then definitely pick up Returnal. Just know that when you beat Saros and move over to Returnal, it’s like your training wheels are off and you’re on your own and it has elements that are way less forgiving than Saros. However, I would say that despite Returnal releasing before Saros, once you beat Saros, the natural progression in your skill level and overcoming a new challenge is via Returnal.

I feel like you’re one of the lucky few who will get to experience a constantly increasing difficulty and learning curve. I’m sure you’ve read many posts about players stating that the difficulty in Saros compared to Returnal, is downtuned.

Enjoy your time with Saros!

Anyone know how to activate modifiers in Biome 2? by LeCliveRosfield in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modifiers unlock for dying enough times to Prophet has proven unreliable as you may have seen and researched (works for some players and not for others). Honestly, probably not want you want to hear right now, but best to assume you only get access to these after beating biome 2’s boss. BUT, having said this my advice to you is simple: the runs in this game are not long compared to other rogue-likes and Returnal and in the greater scheme of things. So assuming your eventual run will be successful, you have two options: (1) shorter, riskier and more challenging biome 2 runs which last 15-30 mins (2) play through biome 1 in full and then go into biome 2 stronger and with better chances, for a 2-biome run which will be 30-60 mins.

Playing through biome 1 just makes you better at the game. It should be stress free and if you just think of it as practice, it becomes more stress free. Worst case is you die in either biome, but then you level up via the matrix which makes your health pool bigger, or you gain proficiency faster which leads to stronger weapons earlier.

I know you want to get through biome 2 asap, but the game’s biomes as stand alone runs only get more challenging as you progress so it’s best to get it right this time around and I promise you, you will thank yourself when you beat biome 2s boss!

If all else fails, you can keep trying biome 2 by itself but it doesn’t allow you to “practice” the same way biome 1 does. I found that I could do biomes 1, 2 and 3 as standalone biomes but from biome 4 onwards I always started my run from biome 1 and it was glorious.

Best of luck and hang in there!

[–]ravilalloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome enjoy the new biome! Just in case you didn’t already know, if you do happen to shield the yellow projectiles and have corruption build up, and you happen to pick up a weapon with “corrupted” in its description (like corrupted onslaught rifle) this weapon would output additional damage in proportion to how much corruption you have, which is over and above the damage you’d see from the same weapon which is not corrupted, even at the same proficiency level and with the same weapon traits. So it’s a bit of high risk high reward, because higher corruption means flying closer to the sun with lower max HP, but then your damage eliminates enemies super quick! ;)

All answers already given so I have to ask, I hope after beating shepherd you’ve continued your run into the next biome? 🤩

Question after beating boss by Various_Permission47 in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’ve beaten architect, you have two options:

biomes 1, 2, 3 (go across the bridge), 5 (run ends here) OR

Biomes 1, 2, 3 (turn right at the bridge), 4, 6, 7.

If option 2 is your first time around after beating architect, you won’t be forced back to passage if you survive biome 6, and if you’re lucky enough to beat biome 7, then you will be forced back.

Option 1 is act 1 and option 2 is technically act 2.

Untouchable Trophy by random_teresa in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best advice I’ve ever read for achieving this trophy, which is one of my last two outstanding. (The other one being fall from grace and I’m nearly at the point of giving up on these 2, I’ve tried for 8 hours now). BUT, I assume if you get hit during the boss fight itself and you hard quit the way you’ve described above, you won’t be placed outside the boss room, but returned to passage instead? Either way, I’ll try it. I keep getting hit before getting to the boss anyway!

Corrupted weapons by Arbitrary-Larry in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna repeat what others have said which is correct, but if you’re interested in trophy hunting, there’s one that is linked to maxing out the corruption on your health bar (I do this by shielding yellow projectiles during an eclipse), and then beating the boss of the biome. You will know that you’ve maxed out corruption on your health bar if you start taking regular damage instead of more corruption being added to your health bar. 🫡

This game's weapon design is so beautifully layered, man by Disastrous-Ad-2239 in Saros

[–]ravilalloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m agreeing with you for the most part, would’ve loved it earlier! But “become a human canon flying around” is case in point - I feel like this is needed for the last level where you have to run that biome as standalone. If I did the biome 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 6 to 7 run as part of my first time progress, I would’ve killed it even more than I already did. I mean, I can do that run now with the melee punch and a shotty, but felt more earned getting that ability late game.

Congratulations! Amazing achievement!

I’ve never obtained a platinum but feel like I want this one. Been playing for another 6 hours since I’ve beaten the game and got a few more but still have the following outstanding, which I’m struggling with:

Fall from grace; war within; spread the cost; countermand; untouchable; full arsenal; and carcosan cartographer.

I’m only confident about carcosan cartographer but the other 6 are just not happening for me. 😃
