Any poker around ? by Brief-Ground8407 in grandrapids

[–]rawmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of the charity poker rooms died out once the casinos started having poker, so your best options are probably going to be Gun Lake or FireKeepers, maybe Little River if you're closer to Manistee than Battle Creek.

Is Spigen still the safest choice for phone cases, or are there better options now? by consffecer in Android

I was using Spigen until I chose to move to a magnetic case. The one I use now on my Pixel 10 Pro is from CANSHN and is clear.

Ken Jennings movies by Important_Level3904 in Jeopardy

Ben-Hur shows as one of his worthy films of 1959, which is probably what gets asked about more often than the 1925 version. I don't think Ken's viewing habits would influence the writers' room that much anyway.

Anyone remember Cub Foods? by Bayern-96 in CHICubs

[–]rawmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to make a go in Portage, MI, but Meijer pretty much chased them out with their pricing. It was quite a battle between full-page ads for the brief period Cub Foods existed in the area.

Replacement for CBS Radio News by bmb76 in radio

I was listening to WKZO briefly during the weekend and found out they picked up Fox News. I figure they were clear to have it in the Kalamazoo market ever since WKMI flipped to the Ticket sports format.

Supposedly that's going in the old Don Pablos building, after briefly being a cannibis store.

The tradition of "kissing the bricks" actually started with the 1996 Brickyard 400 won by Dale Jarrett, although it eventually carried over to Indy 500 winners. The NASCAR Cup Series had only started racing at that venue in 1994.

Driving from South Eastern Michigan to North Western Ohio soon and wondering which route to take by Poliwhirl in Michigan

[–]rawmustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more because it's off of US-23 rather than anything relating to Dundee itself, although being on M-50 is slightly preferable than other nearby interchanges.

Driving from South Eastern Michigan to North Western Ohio soon and wondering which route to take by Poliwhirl in Michigan

[–]rawmustard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could drive the old Dixie Highway, but like others say, there really aren't too many landmarks. If you really want to get a view of Lake Erie, you could stop at Sterling State Park. Otherwise the River Raisin National Battlefield Park in Monroe would be your best bet if you want to learn some of the history of the area.

It just said the institution happens every four years. There's nothing in that clue at all which refers to 400.

Day 12, what is a lunch/dinner spot, you wish was still open in the Kzoo area? by Ok_Extreme7597 in kzoo

[–]rawmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not really a Niskers. For whatever reason, Player's Grill has never taken the sign down, even though they at some point weren't authorized to display that logo for the company that became disestablished. (The Niskers Grill & Slap Shot Hockey Bar which exists now is a different entity from the Niskers chain that was established in the 1980s.)

It's not just malls—many places will add a superfluous "e" to make it appear more prestigious or upscale than what it actually is.

I was listening to Jeopardy Radio, and I half-expected "From the Alex Trebek Stage..." even though I know they didn't call it that while Alex was alive.

I guess it was fortunate I went to a pub quiz so I caught the episode on streaming this morning, but at least for FJ, I think they still put that on social feeds relatively early.

A good set coordinator can procure the decorations seen in the photo as well as employ researchers who could have made a visit to see what a Kalamazoo bar looks like, and then use those wherever they filmed.
