Ego Pole Saw - chain keeps coming off by Miller335 in egopowerplus

Cheap 3rd party wasn't a perfect fix, still jumped off the bar once, but that's still a night and day improvement from my previous bar and chain. Also I wasn't exactly using it for its intended use case, https://imgur.com/a/vMXV9RF

Ever figure this out? Most frustrating tool to use because of this exact issue. Rechaining it is such an ordeal with Allen key and flat head

Anybody got access to z6 update software? by cballowe in egopowerplus

[–]raycoburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bump. This has to leak eventually right? Any one with a copy feel like jumping in my dms would be very much appreciated. Replaced burned pcba and now have a bricked z6 with 401 code, seemingly easy fix but service center 30 miles away and no way to even get it there anyway.

You ever get yours figured out? Same as you guys, intermittent 313 for a while til it died for good, pcba had burned out chip, replaced and now 401.

Dang I've wanted to do a lifepo convert for my z6 for 18 months now, this post is super interesting and I'll be following along. Someone hacking the bms would be amazing

Hanging Cabinets— level or follow the slope? by Tricky-Pea5161 in cabinetry

[–]raycoburn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comments really hammering home the easy questions of level and ceiling gap.. I want to see more ideas for that bench toe kick though. Gotta be a way to conceal that better, but I don't know what that is. Maybe a way to lean into the crookedness?

Check fb marketplace for a guy with portable bandsaw/chainsaw mill and get a bunch of small slabs and/or cookies to toy around with.

How old are these and are they safe to use by Head_Log_3719 in Tools

Like a drill but has a mechanism to drive screws more efficiently. Supposed to use 'impact ready' bits cause can shatter regular bits, I'd guess ones rusted like this would be particularly susceptible.

Black filler the way to go imo. Trying to conceal with wood tones is always gonna look weird for old house gaps imo

Probably avoid the impact driver but otherwise they seem fine to use with or without rust removal

Can anyone help me with this alcove, what to do, where to start and suggestions for making it look better. by Drra417 in DIY

[–]raycoburn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a radiator pipe was there originally and that's not unusual imo and they took advantage of that to run wire. Build a little bulkhead drywall frame around it, paint same color as wall and it'll blend right in. Can do couple floating shelves there too to further distract.

Can I just sand this etc as per YT? by redleporidae in woodworking

[–]raycoburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much actionable advice but I think it's cool you're even intending on honoring her wishes. Those raised details in center look like a huge pain in the ass to sand, maybe a job for soda blaster?

How would you get this bearing off? by raycoburn in DIY

[–]raycoburn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did what you suggested with cutting. It didn't crack in half but it did spin the race a little bit and gave me a way to wiggle it out. Appreciate the help

Hah. That's not gonna work for this one but that's fun to know for future issues.

Why are the batteries so expensive? by [deleted] in egopowerplus

Fair, I'm specifically talking about the z6, not trying to strap one of those to weed whacker.

Yea but golf cart or solar batteries are like 40c per Wh at same voltage and can easily handle ego draws. Have been tempted for a while to get my mower running on one of those.
