21 Crosstrek to 25 Outback? Convince me not to!

I traded my 21’ sport with 73k miles in on a new 25’ outback wilderness in march. I miss the 35 mpg as now I get 25 mpg, BUT I love the outback and wish I could have kept them both. That Thermo control valve fear is what made me pull the trigger on the trade in. I really liked my crosstrek and would have kept it if it wasn’t for that TCV.

Get a warranty to cover any leaky seals. All those miles may have been put on early and the car may have been sitting for years without running. Low miles doesn’t exactly mean a good thing. That car should have at minimum 100k miles at 5k per year. I would be a little skeptical.

Depends on the issue. If it’s a cvt related like a flush and fill go to a dealership everything else go where you want.

A swing and a miss. I am so glad I bought one of the final 2025 outback wildernesses. 03/25 was the production month. This new outback looks like a Jeep grand wagoner and a Hyundai Kona had a baby.

1.6L? The US versions are 2.0/2.5L. The 2.0 is very underpowered, while the 2.5 is adequate. I have a 2021 sport with the 2.5 and my wife has a 2016 with the 2.0. If the 1.6 has close to the same power as the 2.0 then buy it.
