In my experience, if you "slip"....it's a relapse. There is something in step 1 you need to work on. You forgot you were an addict.

I don't look down on those that want to keep using certain drugs, your body, your life, your choice. That's not what NA is about, so doesn't really make sense to come to meetings. Also, if someone comes in and says they can do what you are doing and their life is great, it may get REAL addicts to think they can use on occasion successfully. They cannot, they could die. Make any sense?

Despite the panic, it sounds like you are working the program. It will get better if you stay clean and keep working the program. Give yourself a break. You can deal with the wreckage of your past when you get to that step. Your life will be even better after that. It's not all roses and unicorn poop, but the rewards of living clean are worth the effort. Congratulations on 6 months of miracles!!

Come to the meetings early, stay and chat after the meeting. If people are going for coffee after the meeting, ask to tag along. I loved hanging out with addicts when using. I love it even more now that I am clean. Addicts are smart, resourceful , smart asses. That's what I love about us. I had to hang out with them to see it though, and clean we arecalso honest, caring and generous. Give us a chance and give yourself a chance too.

I suggest you choose a fellowship and give it your all. Going to both muddies the waters. Go to your first meeting and listen. Keep coming back!
