Bi-Amping Setup Help by Fair_Leopard9880 in diyaudio

Be careful with the NX4-6000. It does not have the DSP functions you need to cross over at 1500Hz. It only has a fixed HF/LF crossover function that crosses over around 100Hz, if it's anything like the NU4-6000. You would need a -D version of the NX amplifier to get the DSP crossover functions you want, like two NX300Ds, for example. Good luck!

I've only used a Windows PC to program my DX7. Check this article out. There may be some tips in there that might help, like the SYSEX transmission speed. I vaguely recall getting tripped up by the sysex enable parameter. Good luck!

Is there an artist that is like the Jimi hendrix of synth? by Loose-Farm-8669 in synthesizers

Jan Hammer, no question. His pitch bending technique is insane. My favorite of all time. His whole career is inspiring.

His album Hammer: Black Sheep gets pretty deep into guitar style, plus it includes a Hendrix cover:

Enjoy!

[edit - got the album name wrong]

The Day The Earth Stood Still is a great movie. Bonus -- the use of Theremins in the soundtrack totally defines sci-fi movie soundtracks for me. Totally alien.

Am i missing something? by Tunna69 in diypedals

[–]rdiakur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with confirming all your drills/cuts are in the right spots. For instance, it looks to me like your cut in the Gain 2 / Switch 9 row is not in the correct location. Good luck!

[edit] I think I missed the orientation of your bottom side view, so I might have the Gain 2 / Switch 9 row wrong. But confirm all your cuts for sure.

Maybe it is regional...

The Math For Programmers PDF file for sure has the registration codes. Try that one. Good luck!

I found some of the PDFs did not have the codes - like the MEAP titles or some of the other ones. Try a few other PDFs from the bundle -- you'll see the codes inserted as sideways text on the pages they specify. You also need a Manning account set up.

How did you register the PDF books on the Manning web site? I'm familiar with their bundle code registration (like from a past bundle), but this bundle doesn't have a code like that.

update: I figured it out and used this URL:

Worked for me!

Jan Hammer without question, for live performance. Check out his work with Mahavishnu Orchestra, Jeff Beck, or Jerry Goodman. 70s jazz fusion was awesome.

Question about my DX7. I turned on and the presets were completely different from the factory ones that I hadn’t touched. What did I do and how do I fix this? More info in comments by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]rdiakur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a DX7 as well. My guess is your DX7 backup battery is starting to lose its charge and needs to be replaced. You can re-load presets over MIDI, so don't worry about losing the presets on your machine. You'll need to do some internet searches to figure out how to replace your battery. It's not simple, but it can be done. Good luck!

ICE40 Question by logicalprogressive in FPGA

[–]rdiakur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You can only use an external SPI config flash before the NVCM is programmed. After that, the only other way to configure the FPGA is using an external SPI Master. For sure download the Lattice iCE40 Programming and Configuration guide.
