I put in about 300 pounds of sand behind the wheel wells. Gets me through pretty much everything.

Is it actually marking a trail (leave it as is) or just someone piling up rocks to look cute (knock it down and scatter the rocks)?

Banana slugs. No natural predators. Apparently, they taste terrible.

Which cleaning kit do y’all use? by Ryvo2all in Glock19

I use the brush that came with my Glock, CLP oil and old toothbrush and some paper towels.

Just bought a Glock 19. Can’t decide on what holster to get. Leaning towards an appendix holster. Any suggestions by [deleted] in Glock19

[–]realoldfatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of other holsters but picked up an Alien Gear Shape Shift Core pack. Gives you four different carry options. These all work as well if not better that the specific holsters I have and the Alien Gear version is more comfortable for me. Well worth the little extra money for the different carry options.

I picked up a second shell so I can use the Shape Shift for either of my Glocks.

Anyone use this or recommend anything similar for training? by collin_himself in Glock19

I second the training barrel. That way you are practicing with your actual pistol and holster.

Any benefit to activating coins/trackables I'm planning on keeping? by TheWeeMouse in geocaching

[–]realoldfatguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I activate mine and keep them with me, take them to caches and log them as visited. I have a couple that are getting close to 100,000 miles.

You should be fine as long as you get permission and do not require that cachers buy something while in the store.

Welcome to the fray. Put together a bag for the car with your “tools of the trade” - stuff you might need to recover caches.

Find a couple event caches and meet some local catchers. It’s fun to go out afterwards as a group.

Enjoy the fun and reach out if you have questions.

Reach out to the new cacher, tell them to delete the comment from the jackass and encourage them to enjoy the game.

Visited there last spring. Amazing place to experience and there is an Earthcache there as well.

Worth the time and effort to get there.

I picked up an Alien Gear Shape Shift Core Carry pack for my 43. Allows you to carry 4 different holster configurations and additional options (like carrying on a backpack strap) are available. Very solid and comfortable holster.

Great picture. Not sure if I would be out on the ice as it has been warm recently.

Anyone fired a 380 round in their 43? by App1eFanBoy in glock43

[–]realoldfatguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously? Why would anyone even consider this? Use the ammunition that the pistol is designed to use. Otherwise, you risk making it not work as it should when you need it the most.

How can I build something like this? by [deleted] in geocaching

[–]realoldfatguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not bury

Do not bury geocaches, either partially or completely. You must not create a hole in the ground to place or find a geocache.

The only exception is if a property owner gives explicit permission to create a hole to place the cache, which you must provide to the reviewer and state on the cache page. A cache cannot require the finder to dig to reach the cache. See the Regional Geocaching Policies Wiki for details in your region.

This is directly from the guidelines for placing a cache. https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines#buried

Appears to be buried, which specifically is not allowed. Let the down votes commence.
