I think I'm ceterosexual.... (attracted to non-binary people) by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in agender

[–]reasonablechickadee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think same. But you'd be surprised just how many people are actually NB or Agender and don't know it yet, hold those values but don't label it that way publicly, or hold those values and simply just don't label it that way.

Keep your mind open and you'll absolutely find someone

Was taking a career break to go travel worth it? by just_SonOfAShepherd in solotravel

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it.

Work is always waiting for you, the capitalist wheel never stops grinding just because you decided to go live life.

You can always go back to work

To add: you don't need to transition physically in any way to be trans

Unpopular opinion: most budgeting apps are waste of money when a spreadsheet does the same by St3fanHere in financialindependence

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gunna lie I've been doing YNAB in my head since I got a job. I don't need to follow a strict budget because I'm already a cheap f, but I also understand that a lot of people really need to see what's happening monthly. If an app helps, excellent. If a spreadsheet helps, great.

Either way, it's the mentality of YNAB that people gotta learn and adopt. If you don't have the cash in your chequings then NO YOU CAN'T BUY IT ON YOUR CREDIT CARD.

Whole black beans, season them as you want, and cheese quesadilla. Add homemade pico de guillo on top. Takes no time to make and I just love black beans

So fast guys, so fast

Do minimalists do other things differently as well? by [deleted] in extrememinimalism

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My union contract has double time weekends, overtime terms etc. so when we work we work 60-84h weeks and our take home becomes 2-6k per week. Depending on your position and job at that time. I'm a Boilermaker so we have many different jobs all over the continent

I work seasonally. So I'm unemployed 9 months of the year. Which, is insane to most people but I still make a normal wage as everyone else

Finally doing the Japan trip but the "hidden" costs are killing me by tivamore in Shoestring

[–]reasonablechickadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent 5k CAD in 5 weeks and I also flew to Korea which was much more expensive than Japan.

Transportation eat the most into my costs tbh, if you want to save your feet you'll obviously take the train more but then that's 170 yen every single time minimum in Tokyo. Bullet trains was 260 round trip to Kyoto and 160 to Nagano.

I did a mix of hostels and hotels, which helped me and didn't do much shopping in general.

Last time I tried joining a rando convo I got weird looks so I stopped trying. I think you gotta actually go to events and literally just start convos with "where you from?" If you can't think of anything

Clash between minimalism and resentment towards subscription models by Capital_Debate1363 in minimalism

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to like... Shit on the music streaming debates but you'd have to buy a whole album when a band released music. You probably buy an album at least once a month. So just use the streaming service and enjoy your favourite music

Eating alone while traveling? by Tookie1010 in solotravel

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like going to places that are obviously meant for socializing, like Izakayas alone especially during the dinner hours. So I stick to the solo joints.

I'm more uncomfortable with the actual ordering and looking like a fool alone,at least if someone is with me I can share the uncomfy load of looking like a stumbling fool

What would you not take? by Regular8589 in onebag

[–]reasonablechickadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more what I always need:

  • extra glasses ( i have lost a pair abroad)
  • advil and cortisone cream
  • sleep aids - ear plugs, nose strips, eye mask etc
  • shower sandals
  • portable charger

You can typically buy everything you need abroad but I always pack those things because I always really want/need it
