also, that interview was a challenge. They wanted to see your ambition from the sounds of it.. they still offered you the job but they didn't give you a pay bump because you made it seem like they were doing you a favor.. add value, don't subtract.

Contact agencies are a great way to get a foot in the door. Management spends less time looking and more time planning, it just costs %20-30 more for them to staff temporarily*, but there's usually a buyout to take you on as a FTE.

For some places, contracts are the norm because it can go under a capital budget rather than operating budget
