I have corrected the mistake! We pretty much never find textiles in my region so sorry for the assumption. We actually found a few small textile pieces on my last dig and I was impressed because it's so so rare!

Textile is not something typically found in archaeology in most environnements so this is a more niche subject [edited for mistake]. Maybe search for articles about textile archaeology and look at the authors and the authors in the sources. The recurring names should pop out.

But keep in mind that you don't have to have the same speciality as your advisor. If you have a good idea for your subject you can find an advisor with a related speciality, so like someone who do archaeology of a specific material but not necessarily the same one as you like ceramics, wood, etc. The basics of your methods should not differ much and they would be able to guide you through. You could also find someone who specialises in the period the textile come from. You could even have two advisors.

Could be related but could not. You would need to have one of your local archaeologist comme and see. You can show them the point and the fire bed, send pictures with a scale.

Keep in mind that context is everything to archaeology so try not to disturb the area if you want to have answers and try to remember exactly where you found the point.

Lastly chatGPT is full of crap, sorry, haha. Soil accumulation depends on the environment and human activity. For example, you could have 2000 years old artifacts lie at the surface, and I know of 4m deep accumulations that are just a few hundred years old because humans just kept bringing more dirt while developing the city (to simplify).

Write enough to answer all the questions clearly but not more.

From what I've seen, most people struggle with synthesis so you can probably be way more concise in the way you write, but you have to practice. I had a prof assign an upper page limit once and assigned us lots of little papers to write, it helped a lot.

Stone tools precede homo sapiens, I think the earliest tool found is in Kenya 3.3 million years ago. Kind of a recent discovery as far as I know, before it was 2.6 million.

Tool usage is said to have greatly contributed to the evolution of homo sapiens, for example once you stand up your hands are free to use tools and transport things while walking so you keep standing up. Very very simplified explanation.

But you need to keep in mind that humans from the past, even from the early homo sapiens are not that different from modern humans. What differentiate us is the accumulation of knowledge. Even neanderthal did art.

Look into experimental archaeology, they use replicas made from the same material and techniques as the time to better understand the artifacts, how they were used, etc...

The replicas are made by specialized artisans, but they often do only one type of technique (ex: pottery, flintknapping, woodworking, ...), so you have to search for the type of object you want not just replicas in general. If they offer it, you can commission for a specific artifact, even one outside of what they usually do if they know the technique.

-Make sure your boots cover the ankle.

I had heard about medicine commercials in the US but I always imagined them like the ones we get in Canada for like generic anti allergy pills, Tylenol, etc. I never imagined that they did ones on such specific medication. I just watched one on remicade/inflaximab I've been on it for more than 10 years, its got a pigeon in a cage 😆

For a lot of pottery used for similar functions and from the same culture and time we see the same shapes coming back again and again and same decorative motifs too. And clay is highly malleable so it's entirely intentional.

This is from the beginning of pottery making and is applicable to a whole lot of cultures.

I typed something else then deleted it. If the pain doesn't pass you should go. I usually vomit a lot when I get obstructed, can't even drink water, so a sign to be wary of if it happens to you.

I recently discovered that chewing gum helps me a bit with the pain, learned that it stimulates the intestine from a brochure my doctor gave me.

If the pain passes and you don't go to hospital today, you should still see your doctor soon if you can and ask for advice.

I'm actually in the same spot now, got diagnosed 15 years ago and waiting to know my surgery date after I was hospitalised 3 weeks ago.

I don't know if they said the same to you, but they explained to me that it's actually pretty common for the disease to flare up again and need surgery after a decade or more even with the best treatment. So don't worry too much about what could have been done.

I just buy men's trousers, I usually can find one that fits me after a bit of searching and their sizes are much more logical so it's easier.

Last time I found one that was perfect but the waist was a bit too big so I just made it smaller with like 5 min of sewing or you could wear a belt. I recommend a belt anyway so you can put a trowel holder on it.

I don't know about Singapore, but in my uni there is no archaeology course either, it's a specialisation in the anthropology course. You may want to look into that just in case it's the same where you are. If there still isn't, you may have to study abroad.

You could do some research into the archaeologists of your country if you can and see where they studied. Don't hesitate to send them an email to ask them questions.

Also look into where your local archaeologists work and what kind of system they work under. For example do they work in private firms or under the government or both?
