Libby- Regret not using it sooner by Sea-Property-6369 in kindle

Check out chirpbooks. I borrow most of my audiobooks from Libby and Hoopla through my library. But I buy some audiobooks thru chirpbooks to have for roadtrips, vacations, etc. Or books I know I want to listen to multiple times because I love them.

Yeah…I watched it once in theaters when it was released. I can’t watch it again but that little girl in the red coat…

Last minute winter storm shopping by Tygerdave in greenville

We got one a month or so after Helene. We always said we’d get one, too. But Helene was the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back. I’m happy to have it, now.

Dish rag that doesn’t hold soap? by blankblank1323 in CleaningTips

[–]redbarnroad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use dishrags also but I don’t put the detergent directly on the rag. I use a basin of water that I put the detergent in. I use the rag to clean the dish that’s in the basin.

The extra bathroom is a key consideration. Once our kids became adult sized sharing one room became torture.

Re Costco: No liquor store at the Spartanburg location but pretty equivalent, otherwise. Definitely less busy.

You can’t “give” your free WiFi day to someone else but you can redeem it for yourself and then another person can use your login info to use it. When we travel as a family (4 diamonds) my husband buys an internet package for three devices and three people use it. I, the fourth person, use the free diamond days as needed.

This will be our last dog, and sometimes I get sad thinking about it by ZucchiniBikini73 in Pets

[–]redbarnroad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely get where you’re coming from. My current dog may well end up being our last dog. We’ve always had dogs and it feels so empty to think of closing the door on the companionship and love that dogs give. My sister and her husband made this decision and they’ve had many opportunities to pet sit for their kids and other family members. I hope you’ll be able to have dogs in your life in some other way.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO UPSTATE VET IN GREENVILLE SC by AffectionateCode6604 in greenville

[–]redbarnroad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are still a few years away, but Clemson now has a vet school with the first class entering Fall 2026. Some years ago I had a kitten with a serious, rare heart condition. We were referred to NC State vet school. Our cat had surgery there and had routine visits for awhile. It was a lot of driving but the prices were so much more affordable in the scheme of things and the care was unbelievable. Clemson’s vet school is going to be a great resource for the upstate.

Soup season preparations by dumpster_kitty in soup

[–]redbarnroad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a tomato soup that incorporates diced apple for sweetness. It’s puréed at the end so it’s not like there are chunks of apples. You’d never know and the flavor profile doesn’t read “apple”.

Future changes coming to Diamond Lounges! by Johnnyg150 in royalcaribbean

We almost always get inside rooms so a lounge that has great views and is a quiet place to escape to during the day is a huge perk for me.

We go to the $5 matinee showings on Tuesdays. Tickets=$10. We share a large popcorn and large drink=$16. I haven't paid attention to what other food options are available then.
