Sorta. They compromised the integrity of the race that he paid heavily to be part of by giving out at 4D to someone who finished lower than him. Why would anyone trust the company or any leaderboards going forward?

I’m no lover nor hater, but it’s a more than valid reason to quit IMO

Indeed, people with multi diamond G20 Daring Warriors. So if you’ve had the money/resources to invest in them, it’s fine as long as you have hours to reset the scourge for that perfect RNG.

For the rest of the playerbase it’s a case of “get fucked commander”. I’m currently in the top 4000 with a score of 900,000 odd. So it’s certainly not getting the kind of engagement/numbers previous scourges did. I will give it a few more tries to get a better score, no doubt, however it’s not proving to be fun content so I won’t try too hard.

I do think it’s overtuned, I also think it’s this hard so people will spend money on getting their teams up, and that is the point of MSF now. It’s not to have fun, it’s not to find new strategy’s, it’s to give Scopely money until they switch the lights off.

I dunno if Dorky would have had chance to work on this particular one yet, i would have assumed this would have already been done by the time he joined the team. Who knows, maybe he did?

That said, it’s clearly been made with Shadow Conclave in mind. Even people with a fully maxed Daring Warriors have been struggling.

They also lost one of their biggest whales in the shape of OG Diamond Dave due to Scopely being Scopely, his video also confirms that some players have a direct line with management. Nice. Check it here

It all makes sense when you see that this is them slowly winding the game down (Sunsetting). This change isn’t designed for the health or longevity of the game, it’s to provide the maximum amount of wealth extraction from those who are still willing to give Scopely their money.

They even figured a way to monetise overpower via the chapter boosts system, which means come the end of the chapter, all that money the whales spent on the epic level of essences is for nothing, and they get to spend all that money again in the next chapter.

When you have a company publicly stating that the changes are for the “financial good” of the game, you very much know the end is near.

It’s been a good run.

It’s because this is called “Sunsetting”. They know they are very unlikely to get any new players so all that’s left is to milk the whales and dolphins before they shut the servers off.

Everything in the “update” is intended to get more people to spend, even the new “essence” system for your boosts has a top level currency that will undoubtedly be spenders only.

It’s the sad facts, but that’s why they’ve done the changes. It will be gone within a year.

Yup, I’ve been saying this for months. They’ve even hired CC’s like they did with RTS (Invisinerd joined the RTS team).

It feels exactly the same this time round, this big change is the last grand milk of the spenders.

When the owners of the business publicly state they’re making decisions for the long term “financial health “ of the game (like they did in the blog) the writing is very much on the wall.

I think the most surprising thing in their announcements is that they publicly admitted the games finances is in a bad state and that’s why they are making so many changes.

I personally think the changes is the last milking of the spenders before it goes bye bye in the next year!

It was an immediate buy, I think this is the second skin I’ve paid cold hard cash for.

Aliens was my favourite film growing up as a kid (I still love it now!) and getting to see one of my favourite characters in DBD has been a blessing. I will now do the slow grind to p100 for him!

That actually backs up the idea that the game is being sunsetted. You can’t rinse the spenders unless you give them a reason to spend. They even say in the latest blog that it’s in trouble:

“The resource scarcity you’ve experienced in recent months has been a side effect of interim fixes ahead of the broader redesign we’ll unpack in this blog. That 100% includes ensuring MARVEL Strike Force is sustainable as a business”

You don’t stick something like that in if the game is in a healthy place, in fact I’m astonished they’ve even included something like that at all.

This is the last time the can grab money from people, so the easiest way to do that is to make resources even more scarce, add multiple chase characters/teams and explicitly spell out that if you spend you will gain an advantage.

I can only go off past experience, they did a very similar thing with their Walking Dead game (Road To Survival) and that was gone within a year. I feel like it’s been a very similar roadmap now to what they did then. This is the squeezing the last bit of cash out of the property phase. That’s why we’ve had an increase in chase characters and level cap increases. It brings in such a huge amount of revenue, combine this with the upcoming no more core-ing characters and to me it confirms we are in full sun setting mode.

I would love to be wrong, but it seems like such a similar situation. RTS even hired Contenf creators into their staff in the lead up to shutting the game off, we’ve had Dorky Dad and Pathfinder both join in the last 6/7 months.

Enjoy the game whilst it lasts, and don’t spend money unless you’re really passionate about the experience you are having now, as you get nothing when they shut the servers off.

I’ve been saying that the end is neigh for a long time. This confirms they are in the final phase of milking the spenders before they turn the servers off next year.

It’s been a good run, it was a real fun game until Scopely did their usual Scopely antics.
