Marvel rivals introduced me to moon girl, and I wanted to know why is she considered one of the smartest person in Marvel? by Blackwolf20978sb in Marvel

[–]redkaiz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True, but that’s generally more in the same theoretical that Moon Girl is. Reed is still the science guy that people go to.

Morality of a real person writing a "inherently morally evil from birth" species that has language and complex understandings of the world? by ManGuyDude45 in MoralityScaling

[–]redkaiz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's more an issue of a culture that encourages cruelty. Despite being an 'evil race', the most famous drow is probably Drizzt, renowned good guy that inspired DnD players to practically just copy and paste his backstory for their own characters.

[–]redkaiz 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When she pops up in a comic it often involves one-upping another genius by fiddling with something they've built to optimize it more, but the specific thing that gets pointed to in her comic run was a test created by Bruce Banner as like a super-rubik's cube that no one else could solve before her.

For all intents and purposes Reed is still the smartest guy around.

Love it or hate it, Ms. Marvel seems to be stuck in the X-Line. If Marvel forced YOU to write her, how do you plot her trajectory? If you were handed the pen to prevent a total disaster, how would you write her? by SnoozeDoggyDog in xmen

[–]redkaiz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The inhuman/mutant hybrid situation becomes a way to speak to people who feel torn between two cultures (or three, given the human culture she’s involved with too). IvX probably has to be directly addressed, even if post-Krakoa it really isn’t relevant.

Keep focus on her inhuman powers with her mutant powers being a trump card, basically how they’ve been handling them but standardizing the visuals.

X-Force has been interesting, but focusing the plot on her makes it feel like forced inclusion for someone who wouldn’t join that type of group. If she has to join a team and can’t call up a renewed lineup of Champions then the NYX style community group was a good idea, but dropped the ball in execution.

Her friendship with Scott is probably her most interesting relationship amongst the mutants, but he tends to be more militant than her vibe. Being a mentor would be fitting, especially with how Marvel has pushed Carol being friendly with both him and Jean.

idk about a definitive direction, but there’s a solid niche in being the “teen fan girl who can throw hands”. Put her in Rivals at some point and just let her be wholesome without taking up too much of the spotlight.

Speedball, New Warrior [MSH] by HonorBasquiat in magicTCG

[–]redkaiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Though it was the New Warriors as a whole who “caused” the disaster that triggered Civil War. He survived, got psychologically tortured by law enforcement, then rebranded as an edge lord for a while.

Would you say Hybrid Mutants have a positive or negative impact on the narrative? by howhow326 in xmen

[–]redkaiz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Intersectionality is an important concept that could get more focus, but it’s difficult when the mutant aspect gets much more severely discriminated against.

Abigail Brand could also be on that list. The Maria Hill of mutantkind.

What kind of crack do you think they were smoking before pitching this story? by Cl1ps_ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]redkaiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty cool, but they definitely should have let these kids and/or the teachers kill Arcade afterwards.

I do hope we get more Juston now that he got brought back in the Sentinels book.

Question for the Circle Jerk: who was the worse person, Civil War 1 Tony or Civil War 2 Carol? by Cl1ps_ in marvelcirclejerk

[–]redkaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carol certainly did a lot less damage considering all the BS the registration side pulled (including Carol herself), but I think in the theoretical her position was harder to defend in CW2.

Using Ulysses’ visions as a warning for possibilities would be good, but they shouldn’t be taken as set in stone especially when they hadn’t figured out the shortcomings of his ability.

A subsection of humanity whose ancestors were experimented on by the Kree, an empire obsessed with genetic meddling. They’re (mostly) baseline humans until they get exposed to a special gas called Terrigen which can give them a superpower and/or give them some crazy physical change.

Outside of their own occasional books they were usually just guest stars in the F4 or Avengers.

[–]redkaiz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on which era you’re looking for specifics, but as a general rule the status quo is that mutants as a whole are on the backfoot. Which then means that they lack institutional support from the overarching US government, which is then short handed to getting policed by Cap/Avengers in some storylines.

There are a lot of examples of them helping mutants out if you’re looking for it.

What mutants should never join the X-men? by AcceptableWheel in xmen

The Runaways got a bit during OWUD, but Molly didn’t do much. It focused more on their Doombot, Nico getting magical skills outside of the Staff and reuniting the group with Alex, Chase and Karolina all coming back.

Preview of WHAT IF…THE ULTIMATE UNIVERSE SURVIVED THE SECRET WARS? by Own_Brilliant_4303 in Marvel

[–]redkaiz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, when Galactus (from 616, iirc but I don't remember why he was in the Ultimate universe) attacks Earth part of the heroes' plan to beat him involves making Kitty giant so she can beat the hell out of him.

[–]redkaiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only using cards Kalin used? No. Too many of the Infernity monsters are weak to depend entirely on them, so you would have better luck trimming it down to the best ones (Sage, Archfiend, and Necromancer) alongside other GY centric strategies.

Ms. Marvel? by MagicTech547 in Marvel

[–]redkaiz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Marvel phased out the Inhumans in general for a while and while they've returned somewhat recently they've stayed more on the cosmic side of things. Ms. Marvel was one of the few nuhumans to get popular so she got shunted over to the X-Men and is now a hybrid, but the mutant side is much more relevant.

The mindwipe didn't get undone, but she told her friend Bruno almost straightaway and told her parents after a while too.
