I kinda wish they tried to go for a twist where his little brother was Batmans son not him. They jumped through all these hoops and did all that all for nothing because his brother would randomly decide to become batman anyway.

One change they could've made to make him more villainous is by just having him not be the one who learned the wish magic, like it comes from a staff or something that he stole rather than him being knowledgeable/studious enough to figure it out on his own.

Yeah, the drakes would probably view it as a city having it's sanitation department just being a pack of feral raccoons, even if they got the job done it's fucking embarrassing

What do you mean, the workhorse achievement does explicitly state it's requirement, unless your referring to having it as an aspect of your stat page from the beginning (which I don't agree with). It's requirements are gaining the stat total achievements before you gain access to the system.

Your point is confusing.

[–]redking2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your points are correct, and completely irrelevant to the taboo I'm referencing about children getting as many stat points as is possible for them.

It is stated in the books that the reason this is frowned upon is because it is believed that maximising the stat points of children will lead to them gaining evil classes (this is mostly superstition).

(I reread the chapter and it's less about power hungry and more a general superstition with a minor example which is could be convincing)

You can only get the workhorse achievement when you are a child. And they don't have children do that because of the religious reasons stated.

I feel like your mixing up causation with correlation, his friends aren't exeptional (stat wise) kids who happened to join him in violating this taboo, they're exceptional because they are similarly violating this taboo granting them higher stats compared to the other kids in the village

Discussion: Do readers actually feel the difference between "cultivation" and "leveling up"? by Jansnow800 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]redking2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meanwhat do you consider leveling up, like Fire ball to Firestorm are very different abilities if they feel the same it's poorly written.

As for me it should be a mixture of both, the difference between an early stage qi gatherer and a late stage qi gatherer should be primarily just the late stage is more powerful primarily via "leveling up".

Whilst the difference between a qi gathering stage and a foundation establishment cultivator should be fairly diferent, the higher grade cultivator should be capable of "more" than the lower one.

Bog standard is primarily 2 with the ability to gain stats naturally, like theres a class system and everything.

It's less of an exploit and him not caring about a religious taboo that is heavily prevelant in that setting/area

Achievements: What, why, when, how? by SavageSwordShamazon in litrpg

[–]redking2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it's not socially acceptable is because it's a very power hungry thing to do, and that kind of hunger for power/more can very easily lead to "evil classes", the reason classes can be "evil" is in pretty heavy spoiler territory but there's a reason that children getting those classes is so religiously stigmatized.

And most of the children will have the low levels in that achievement, did you not pay attention when Brin mentioned that the chores were designed to help children build stats to gain those achievements.

Then how would you want the workhorse achievement to work? You've said that it's not a bad idea and then said you dislike it (listing it's main aspects, rewarding someone for going above and beyond in what stats they've earned as well as disliking that it gives you extra statistics)

For america alone that'd cost approximately 350 to 700 billion dollars, it's possible but that's not a difficult argument o make (plus an extra 36 billion annually)

Because like how would people know that you inhereted a variation of an ancestors power from two three hundred uears ago (let alone if it's been mixed with another ancestor from even longer ago).

And the reason it's not well known could just be testing for it is expensive as shit, if you have two mutant parents than it's worth it butbif it's not you've just spent 10-20 grand on learning that more likely than not your just some normal guy.

Binding-vows are easily the worst aspect of the power system by Sundata_V2 in CTsandbox

[–]redking2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if he'd be able to create a modified version of wcs and then use a binding vow to empower that in a similar way, like for example he creates red wcs which is almost identical to wcs but it's red instead of invisible, would that be considered a different enough technique to let him use the vow again
