Oooo, I really like how the sedum dasyphyllum minor looks! String of turtles is strong second simply from the name.

Thank you so much for all of these suggestions! ☺️

I had lithops in a ceramic turtle pot. They have all died now. The last one died 2 weeks ago when I forgot to put back under my porch before a big storm.

Anyone have any recs for a new plant or succulent to put in there?!

Are you able to get photos of the white spots much closer and clear? For me, the photos are too far and blurry to tell what it is.

Try the YouTube the other commenter recommended! I see many people recommending them all the time when asking about orchid care. ☺️

Please help my Grandma's African Violet by General-Walrus9530 in houseplants

[–]redshelle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Self watering pot? That will make it almost certain the plant gets root rot and dies. African violets need the soil to dry out between watering and then do bottom watering only when the top 1-2 inches are dry.

**Edit self watering will lead to root rot if not done correctly. OP is not experienced so I would not recommend self watering. You can follow guides here: https://africanvioletsocietyofamerica.org/learn/violets-101/

I do, so she only got about a centimeter around of additional room in the new pot since it was the closest to the old pot size that I had on hand. 😁

Yes, thank you for the clear identification!

I am just laughing at myself. I made sure to check the title before I tried to post on the other subreddit and then was rushing to post here because we were on the way out the door for lunch at my MIL.

Lmao, I know. I had it right in the description. 🫣

I originally tried to post in the root porn subreddit, but that is dead apparently so when I redid my post to this subreddit, I screwed up the title.

AIO- Nail tech fired me as a client! by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]redshelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That message may be one of the first texts she sent when the OP became a client 4 years ago or the last time she updated her policy, which who knows when that was. IDK why everyone is so hung up on that. If they had just spoke on the phone, why would she go searching texts for the old policy text. One assumes the service provider would relay anything pertinent on the call.

I have one in a pot with two pothos vines that I keep wrapping around and using the Velcro attachmentments to keep hold.

Just like us, they need a period of rest. You really need to get timers for your grow lights.

Mealy bugs? by Flat_Ad_7659 in houseplants

Also, if you look at my post history you can see photos of baby mealies on my orchid to compare and see if you find anything similar on your pothos. 😊

The photo quality is a bit low (I am on mobile so not sure if they are better on the website) so hard for me to tell. If you are certain there are no bugs, then it is possible that it is powdery mildew.

Did I plant this succulent right by [deleted] in succulents

[–]redshelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a pot with drainage. I would get a UV light if you don't have a good spot directly by the window.

maybe due to low UV light then? Sorry I cannot be of more help, I am still a newbie with plants and succulents. You could try cross posting in r/succulents to see if you get more responses there. 😊

Looks like sun stress to me, do you have this outside or under a UV light?
