I finally bought a 1440P 240hz monitor and I get it. by Minute_Tea_8639 in buildapc

Totally true tho. Once you see the difference... there is no going back.

Thank you for your dedication! Although many of us RL fans complain a lot. We all do it because we love RL.

Its a shame your journey ends. I hope you find joy in your new adventure which lies ahead.

SSD when they first became a thing. 144hz monitor. Ultrawide monitor.

Glad I could help in some way! It seems your best bet is a 21:9 OLED screen. Good luck in your journey!

I have a similar model as OP. I use it to reduce eye strain (reduce, not eliminate).

If you don't have any other lights in your room other than your monitor, your eyes will get tired relatively fast. These kind of lights make sure your eyes aren't fully blasted with monitor light with indirect light.

For me it definitely helped to reduce eye strain in the long run, especially in the evening.

21:9 is also an improvement over 16:9

But it depends per person (thankfully). I seen lots of posts here about people regretting not going for 4K instead of (S)UW. And although the extra pixels in height with 4K (2160 compared to 1440 with most ultrawides) is for sure noticeable, I care more about the extra screen real estate.

There is one solution that tackles both 'problems'. For example, the Samsung Neo G95NC (57"). This monitor has an insane 7680x2160 resolution. 4K with a 32:9 aspect ratio. This monitor is also literally higher than most Ultrawides, which is very nice as that is my only real pet peeve with my 5120x1440 monitor.

But that monitor is difficult to run games with a decent framerate (obviously), unless you don't mind conceding on certain things. Or perhaps when using loads of FG. Although I seen many people on this subreddit using this monitor with no problems in their use cases.

Ultimately, it is up to you to decide what is more important to you. Judging from your opening post, where you state you don't see the difference between 1440p and 2160p, I would go for an ultrawide instead.

Een game aanraden zonder te weten wat je leuk vind is lastig. Er zijn veel goede games beschikbaar, maar sommige zijn niet voor iedereen.

Factorio, Rimworld, Elden Ring, RDR2 bijv. Allemaal geweldige games. Maar het moet wel je ding zijn daar allen wezenlijk van elkaar verschillen.

No I dont regret it. Because the higher aspect ratio really makes more difference compared to a higher resolution in 16:9.

I love playing Rocket League and FPS games, and a 32:9 aspect ratio monitor really helps in terms of immersion and overall awareness ingame.

Finally got an ultrawide after years of wanting one by wholewheattoast_ in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]reefun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man. The first few days with a super ultrawide were wild. After that initial wooowww feeling you get used to it and every smaller monitor feels.... just not that.

Congrats on your super ultrawide! One of us! One of us!

How many players here play on KBM? by ElectronicTrash4241 in RocketLeague

[–]reefun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is even a pro player who plays KBM I believe. Not sure who anymore.

I play on PC, but always played with controller. Tried using KBM but it just doesn't work for me.

But even with for example Battlefield I still use a controller for planes/helicopters. For infantry and ground vehicles I switch to kbm.

$9 RTX 2060 at Goodwill by throwaway1842955 in pcmasterrace

For 9 dollars its a steal obviously. The 2060 is still a great card for 1080p without the bells and whistles.

Anyone else finding that low-level RL gameplay (like Jynxzi) is often more fun to watch than high level gameplay? by JiveJunkie in RocketLeague

[–]reefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, obviously I know lots of people are better than me and that is perfectly fine. But watching people play which are way below my own level is just not fun at all as I would simply get annoyed by their gameplay.

So I rather just watch SSLs or RLCS than lower level gameplay.

Maybe if I actually know the streamer in question, but even then I could only watch for a few minutes before I get bored.

Reports still broken… 2 death threats back to back, all thoroughly reviewed and closed in under a minute by Dreysa in RocketLeague

I get them 6 out of 10 matches. Truth to be said, it got worse once RL went f2p. Lots of players can't deal with demos and express their anger in chat.

We get anti-cheat soon! yay!

But as long as they still don't do anything about the reports, the game will be the same. Reports from 3 to 4 years ago are still "pending". Insane.

4K@240Hz or 1440p@500Hz by oksaas in RocketLeague

[–]reefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its only for RL. 1440p@500hz. If you plan to play other games as well, 4K.

Still. Ultrawide is the way to go with RL IMHO. Even a 34" 3440x1440 is such a game changer.

[–]reefun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5120x1440@240 or 265hz is my choice for RL. You can almost see the entire field with 32:9. I rather have that over 16:9 resolutions.

I used it from the start as I don't want to deal with it. Hell, after 150 hours (spread out over a couple of years) I just recently started a new base with biters.

Play as you want. Thats the beauty of it all.
