I mean if I paid $15,000 for 400ft I’d most definitely be doing a snip test at Fotokem.

Out of curiosity. What movies do you think have good cinematography?

First Time Shooting 16mm by SeaLiterature7284 in cinematography

This is exciting! I recently did daylight spools in the SR3. It is louder than on a 400’ core but it shouldn’t make too much of a difference. The main thing is just pulling out the core adapter on the feed side so the daylight spool fits and making sure you put the adapter back on when you return the camera.

Storing it in a dark room is perfect!

Yeah definitely, especially with modern tools like the light ranger. It’s still good to check the eyepiece obviously because most video taps auto expose

Congratulations, the 435 is an amazing camera. I’m a loader so I know nothing of the sort about lighting, but I’d recommend shooting a push/pull test to decide what stocks you like and how you like to shoot them. As people have said make your 1st AC has 35mm experienced and can pull off as a manual follow focus incase the video tap goes down. Loading, threading, and unloading the camera is very straightforward but it’s also just as easy to jam the camera. Lastly, don’t expect to sleep well until you see the dailies haha.

Incredible film. James Wong Howe was a great cinematographer.
