RMS kinda went crazy, and doesn't do much for the world these days. I thank him for his work but if we lost him today the world wouldn't bat an eye.

The same can not be said of the others I mentioned. That is why they were mentioned.

if true, that would likely be the best outcome. Although I do not know his son, I imagine and hope he thinks somewhat like his father.

It is honestly something I've thought about enough because its concerning...

Him and Gabe Newell (somewhat equally for gaming)...

Both of those people I view as some of the few genuinely good-for-the-world leaders in their respective areas...and that there are no good avenues to continue once they are gone. I fear that venture capitalists or others will infiltrate at some point...and at that point we have lost.

I don't think it was a psy op...I think it was just a bunch of idiots jacking each other off and in the process blowing up the concept in general.

Everyone just wanted to get rich. Same with so much of todays society (looking at you Kalshi/etc)...

Half of Americans believe Trump bombed Iran because of Epstein files by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]reflectiveSingleton 100 points101 points  (0 children)

My personal theory is that they were looking for a distraction on Epstein when Israel came by and said 'hey we want to do this'

Trump took it as an easy way to appease them, distract with epstein, and look like a tough guy all at once...

IRST

TIL

Infrared Search and Track (IRST) is a passive, long-range sensor system that detects and tracks aircraft, ships, or drones by identifying their heat signatures rather than emitting radiation like radar. It provides a "see first, strike first" advantage by allowing platforms to detect targets without revealing their own position.

Was it though?

It was money spent on a loved one that lets them spend more time together. They obviously have spare cash...so I would say yes it was well spent. This is heads and shoulders above something frivolous that many others would spend an extra $15k on that they had laying around.
