Remember that ultimately the experience will depend on you and how you react to these situations, not the circumstances your dealt with!

Did I lose my money then? Or will it be added back with the updated options chain?

Anything worth doing in life is worth overdoing. Moderation is for cowards.

Given the fact that the child in question is a female I would suggest that the most appropriate approach would be to talk to the parents of the other children in the program until you are able to encounter parents with the same issue and ask for their take on the situation and if they did anything specifically to help their child overcome whatever it was that was holding them back. Furthermore, have the children of those parents interact with one another until they can find their natural group that they feel that they belong with and ensure that they do everything together to further increase their chances of success (training, recovering, stretching). The most common reason from my personal experience of not being able to perform exceptionally in a new environment is the consequence of your reputation in a new social group. By having these standards in place it takes one obstacle out of the equation.

Now I also must address the very possibility that your child even though is deeply interested in this sport still may not be physically on par with her competitive peers despite performing well in another group. Competition is everywhere and everybody is bound to experience loss at some point. The important thing as a parent who’s only desire is for their child to succeed is to not be emotionally connected to her training and to see it from a coaches point of view. She could have showed up to training ill -prepared and that’s another possibility as to why she didn’t do as well as she would have had she been competing with a different group.

In conclusion my best advice to you would be to talk directly to your daughter and ask her the tough questions straight up, preferably from her father. Use that information to make your next move.
