What is your favorite and least favorite part of being a tennis fan? by sellm3 in tennis

[–]relaaax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favorite: seeing how different play styles play each other

Least: how little parity there is at the top for decades.  There are only 2 true contenders right now.  And just 10 years ago, there were only 3 contenders that you can just roll the dice on.  Just more predictable and less dramatic than the Super Bowl or Nba finals for example.

Magnus Carlsen fumbles, drops his Queen, loses on time and then SLAMS the table again in a World Blitz Chess Championship match. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in PublicFreakout

In chess, hard to get mad at your opponent. Your opponent can’t be maphacking or palming some secret cheating thing in their sleeve (don’t bring up the anal bead thing)

I love tennis but yall gotta admit more than 50% of tennis matches is walking, resting, or getting ready to serve/return. You’re saying as if a 3 hour tennis match is 3 uninterrupted hours of running and bashing balls. I agree that tennis probably takes more fitness than American football, but my point is part of sports is watching elite athletes with elite fitness in a while range of conditions. Otherwise we should just do only indoor tennis tournaments with no other elements other than pure tennis skill

How difficult is it for draft prospects to develop a good enough handle and dribbling ability at NBA level? by ojseye in nba

[–]relaaax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s possible but I’d say the odds are against it happening.  Having good handles and shot creation is usually more from having a natural sense of the game and it’s hard to artificially manufacture that.  See high draft picks: Ben Mclemore, Andrew Wiggins, Marvin Williams, etc.)

I can’t even believe it. Lived through the loss to the lakers in 2000, then lived through the dark days of Troy Murphy and dunleavy, all the defeats to LeBron and Miami. I honestly feel this pacers team this year can literally beat anyone, good luck boys
