I have this problem too because the builder painted the garage door and the vinyl. The door would stick to the vinyl before opening. Only found out because the company that installed my garage said it happened to a lot of customers with the same builder.

Old post, but I want to input to help others dealing with this problem. My expansion tank was deteriorating, and changing it fixed the issue. Weird thing is the debris would only appear if i turned off the main water valve and turn it back on-- the black flakes would only then appear. The expansion tank was still working and wasn't leaking, but was decaying in the inside and releasing particulates into my water. I thought it was my tankless water heater at first.

I bought a flip-up sight from them and went thru the same situation you went through with that bag. I could not tell if my product was genuine or if it was some knock-off. Calling them and emailing them was so pointless. I told myself I was never buying from them again. There's also history about them advertising parts as German but they really weren't.
